University parking, quiet nights

More than a good option for visiting Strasbourg, five minutes’ walk from the center. A quiet area where we parked our campervan, over 7 meters long, along the road, inevitably protruding slightly to the side but without obstructing traffic. We paid for parking with EasyPark: €2.50 for two hours. Our spot was quite sloped and would not have been ideal for spending the night.✦Translating

We stayed here one night with two other vans. Six level spaces and many others that are rather sloped. In the level spaces, our 6-meter van extended slightly beyond the lines. Maximum stay of five hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with an affordable incremental rate up to three and a half hours. The last hour and a half is extremely expensive. Traffic noise from 6 a.m. was quite annoying.✦Translating

The large lot looked nice at first, in a busy surrounding area. It was half full of parked vehicles. When we returned in the evening, we discovered that the lock on our entrance door had been tampered with and bent badly. We could no longer insert the key into the lock and had to use the passenger door to get in. Not recommended!✦Translating

We were here from December 31 to January 2, 2025. Very quiet parking area beside a small university park with seating and bins. From the river, you can walk directly along it to the old town, cathedral, or Petite France. There were always between three and seven other campers in the lot.✦Translating

The parking lot is full during the day, but the large spaces become available at night. Perfect for walking to the center. We spent one night here in a converted Kangoo during the university holidays. Very convenient parking for reaching Strasbourg city center on foot. Little traffic in the parking area, a bit more around it but not bothersome.✦Translating

When we arrived in the late morning, all the longer spaces were occupied with one-space gaps between them, so we did not want or could not squeeze into a free space between two motorhomes. We found a space on the left, more intended for cars. Good for visiting the city. We did not stay overnight, as there are nicer places.✦Translating

It's a good spot to stop for maybe 3 hours. The ticket prices have changed, so it's expensive now. 3 hours was €4.50, then more than that goes up steeply. Quick walk into the town.

Very good parking area; there are also longer spaces along the access road. We had no problem with our 6.40-meter vehicle and bike trailer. Since it was a public holiday, we paid nothing and the lot was almost empty. Only a short walk of about 15 minutes to the old town.

Great place to park for visiting the old town; plenty of room for our 7.2-meter vehicle. We reversed in, so the rear overhung. Paid €5 for three hours; it was not busy even though it was Saturday.

Only four stars because it is slightly expensive, but it is hard to complain considering how close it is to the center on foot. The area seemed nice and safe. We slept without trouble and there were a few other campers. A sign says there is no street lighting after midnight, which we initially mistook for a no-overnight rule because it was in French, but we had no issues. Great city spot!

We spent a quiet night. In the morning, we moved a few meters toward the riverbank, which is also free on public holidays and paid the rest of the time.

We went on the afternoon of December 24 and managed to find a place, but it was full and the spaces are quite small. By evening it emptied out and there were other motorhomes. Parking is free at night. The location is safe and not far from the markets, about a 15-minute walk. We slept very well. There is plenty of greenery nearby for walking the dogs.
