Been here?
This is a large gravel parking lot beside a moor hiking trail, with sheltered recesses and space for several vehicles. It is generally quiet at night, although nearby road traffic can be heard and many walkers, cyclists and dog owners pass during the day. There is no mobile toilet or rubbish bin, the mobile signal is weak, and mosquitoes are common in the evening. A brewery restaurant is 1500m away.

It is a nice, large site. There were two vans on the site, which made it feel safe. However, when it got dark, two cars arrived and two people got out and talked in the darkness. This made us feel very uneasy, so we chose to drive somewhere else. We thought it seemed very strange.
The parking area has small recesses that allow you to isolate yourself. Many walkers pass by, even during the week, including cyclists and people with dogs. We had a good night without any problems.
Quiet parking area in the forest with no no-camping sign. The parking area was divided into sections by bushes. There was no portable toilet or rubbish bin, and the mobile signal was poor. Otherwise, a quiet night with moderate road noise.
Great place. Quiet and enough space for several outfits. A friendly local resident said when we met while walking the dogs that it is only disruptive for locals when people relieve themselves in the forest. You can also take a wonderful walk there.
Beautiful gravel parking area. Convenient bays for parking, although slightly uneven. Quiet night, but you can hear traffic in the background if you are a light sleeper.
Clean parking area, well suited for one night while passing through. The police came in the morning but ignored us.
We spent the night and part of the day here. The parking area is on the edge of a Natura 2000 area, but there is no prohibition on staying overnight. Vegetation shields you from the fairly busy road. Many walkers use the parking area. We used the nearby cycle paths, but some paths may be blocked by forestry work, requiring a detour.
Quiet, level parking area. We were there with two other vans. Unfortunately, the rubbish bin was very full. Many mosquitoes and rather poor reception. Otherwise, a great place for a nice walk. You can pick lots of blueberries there.
Probably the best place in the area, quiet at night, only very weak 4G signal.
Quiet parking area, no noise but lots of mosquitoes in the evening! We spent one night here.
We spent a quiet night. There were quite a few mosquitoes in the evening, but in the morning after sunrise it was lovely.
We stayed very well here for one night. Solid ground.
Quiet overnight parking area, more or less shady depending on the time of day, with an informative and worthwhile trail around Schönramer Filz.
Great place to spend the night. The moorland walk is highly recommended, especially with children! Hardly any internet.
At dusk we were by the moor lake a few hundred metres from the parking area—dreamlike! Very quiet at night.
Nice and quiet place next to road with hike around, the swamp - cca 1 Hour around . We spent one night here and had great camper neighbors. There is really a lot of space and you can choose.
Small parking area without services, with shade. The road is quiet at night. The path around the lake is very beautiful and recommended. A few dog owners and hikers passed by, but they did not disturb us at all. A good starting point for getting to Salzburg early.
As described in the previous reviews: very quiet at night and wonderfully clear air. In the morning it becomes very busy because hikers and dog owners are out and about. We still enjoyed it and will return.
Shady parking area beside the moorland nature trail (3.4 km), next to a heavily travelled country road. Gravel, level, no rubbish bin. Busy during the day, lonely and dark at night. We should be grateful to be allowed to stay overnight for free in this area... Leave no trace except your footprints.
