A quiet, shaded parking lot at the Alarcos Hermitage, with views of the castle and Vega del Río Guadiana. The ground is extremely sloped, with no level areas, and low tree branches can make positioning difficult. A nearby fountain is marked as non-drinkable, while the restrooms are only occasionally open. Hiking trails to Valverde and its lagoon are nearby.

A beautiful place. However, the ground is far too sloped just for overnight stays; there are no level areas.
The car park is very sloped, with many trees and low branches, and we could not find a good place to park. The only water fountain has a sign saying the water is not drinkable. It was very remote and we did not feel comfortable, so we drove on late in the evening to sleep in the centre.
