Been here?
A large public parking area beside the Daugava, within walking distance of the castle ruins and a broad meadow. Toilets, drinking water and garbage cans are available, with the toilets open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The location is attractive, but evening activity can include walkers, groups and drifting cars; recent visitors feared vehicles might hit their campers. It is best suited to a one-night stay.

The parking area is large and can accommodate many cars. Unfortunately, it also has space for drifters. We were afraid they might crash into our vehicle. Several passenger cars drove onto the lot during the evening, but the people did not get out. After a while, they drove away. It is a public place. Otherwise, beautiful and clean.
A large, wonderful car park right by the castle and river, where you can combine history with an amazing sunset. The toilets are great, but only open until 7 p.m. Even though a road through the town leads to Riga, you cannot hear any cars.
Very good, even in winter.
Fine place for an overnight stay. Only a few walkers. The toilets are clean.
Quite some traffic in the evening (I was there Friday night) and people meeting, talking and sometimes doing donuts (BMW drivers...)! But it's completely quiet at night, the toilets are brand new (220v plug inside) and very clean. The ruins are very close and beautiful when the sun sets.
Very good place. New, modern toilets have been built. Everything is clean. I definitely recommend it as a place to stay overnight. You could see traces of tyre burning, but we did not encounter it.
