1 Via Peschiera, 54035, Fosdinovo
Been here?
This free service area provides working fresh-water loading and wastewater drainage, but access is very narrow. The final section is unpaved, with low branches and limited room for turning, making it difficult for larger motorhomes. A Ducato 540 has used it successfully, while vehicles over 6 metres have been discouraged. An unserviced parking area is available at the village entrance.

I stayed here with a motorbike. Fresh water, great view and quiet all night as this is the end of the road. Only caveat: Turning a big car/RV around here might be challenging, yet possible. Doable for normal sized cars though!
It is better to do nothing than to offer a service like this. Very narrow road with vehicles parked on the side, and impossible to maneuver properly with a van and trailer to turn around at the end. A real trap.
I recommend avoiding it. To reach the dumping point, the road is unpaved, with some low branches, although it is manageable. I encountered two cars on the narrow road and had to maneuver inch by inch. The area is very awkward for dumping and turning. Apart from the castle, the municipality offers very little, and the road uphill from Sarzana was rather narrow. Still, credit to the municipality.
Small service area for filling and emptying water. The road is narrow and the final section is unpaved. We had no problems with our 5.4 m Ducato. The route suggested by Google Maps is nonsensical; on the way back we took the SS446 state road, which was very convenient.
For those complaining that the road is narrow, perhaps they forget that this is a village reached by a 5–6 km road with several hairpin bends. So thanks to the municipality for providing a free service for campers. Not only that: near the nursery school there is a large, easily accessible space with a sign saying "camper parking area." Mine is 7.3 m long and arrived without difficulty.
We used the dumping facilities, but access to the road is indeed quite difficult with a larger camper.
We were only there briefly. You can really only stand immediately next to the waste disposal point. The swarms of mosquitoes are considerable. Within a few minutes we had been bitten and drove on. The access road is as difficult as described by the other writers.
The location of this service area is a misunderstanding! Access is very difficult, narrow, and there is little room to turn around. If your vehicle is longer than 6 meters, do not even try—it is not worth the stress.
Everything worked perfectly and went smoothly. There is little space, but for experienced drivers it is not a problem.
The road to get there is challenging, but the filling and emptying facilities work perfectly.
Many thanks to the municipality for this free, clean emptying and filling point. However, only experienced drivers should attempt it. The place is extremely narrow and maneuvering is delicate, but our 7 m vehicle made it through.
Access is a little tight but manageable. Several maneuvers are required to turn around. Otherwise, it is super quiet with a balcony view all the way to La Spezia. Space for a maximum of 2 motorhomes or 3 vans. Good filling and emptying facilities and 5G. Thanks to the municipality. An alternative parking possibility is further up in the village.
The service on site is adequate and free, but I do not recommend it for vehicles 6 m or longer. Access is extremely tight and we had a bit of a scare!
We drove up from the coast. A 6 m panel van can still manage it; I would not recommend it for anything larger. Google Maps initially directs you from the coast onto a road where you cannot continue. Poor turning possibilities at the site.
The road is impossible for a camper unless it is a small panel van at most! Do not attempt it!
Excellent. The access road is a little narrow, but the new filling and emptying facilities work well. This location only provides services; camper parking is in the village. Castle worth visiting.
No problem at all with a 6.4 m panel van. Filling and emptying facilities are excellent, and there is water pressure—actually more water than pressure, but adequate. Plenty of flies and mosquitoes too; I sent at least 20 flies to their eternal hunting grounds in 60 liters of water. The view while emptying is perfect. Many thanks to the municipality ;) Overnight parking is a few meters further uphill.
The approach via the main road is steep but passable. We were directed via a side road, which was just about manageable with a 6.3 m panel van. The site itself offers everything it should. Avoiding scraping the underside while emptying and turning around was the next challenge. Four stars because the small municipality has made a real effort and the view for emptying is unique :-)
