Been here?
A free public parking area close to the town centre, with 6 large motorhome spaces and additional car-sized parking bays. It is suitable for self-sufficient vehicles and generally quiet at night, though morning traffic can be audible. Supermarkets are directly nearby, including a Rewe about 2 minutes away, and the centre is a short walk. Overnight visitors should pay the applicable tourist tax from 1 April to 31 October.

Free public parking area with six large motorhome spaces, plus many car-sized spaces. Quiet. Very close to the town, which is worth visiting. Anyone staying overnight should pay the tourist tax at the tourist office.
Good free spot. Relatively quiet at night. The center is easy to reach on foot. Numerous supermarkets are directly beside the parking area, some of which are open on Sundays. Thanks to the town of Plau. A tourist-tax machine would be great; otherwise it can only be paid during tourist office opening hours.
Many thanks to the town for this free overnight parking area! With the visitor card, you can use the hop-on hop-off bus for free and travel around the lake, which alone would otherwise cost €16. And the highlight: at 8:30 in the morning, a municipal garbage truck came by and collected the rubbish from the motorhome!
Thanks to the town of Plau for the parking and overnight option at the tourist-tax price. I agree with Barni24's comment.
Good overnight spot for travelers passing through. It is quite snug, but that did not bother us since we stayed only overnight.
Many thanks to the town of Plau. Excellent central location. Ideal for self-sufficient vehicles. The center and shopping are close. Everyone who parks here should pay the tourist tax. This is a parking area, not a campsite; some people do not understand that and harm everyone.
Very clean and free parking area five minutes from the town center. There are six bays for motorhomes, each fitting two motorhomes one behind the other—12 spaces in total. Bins are available by the road. Rewe supermarket is reachable in two minutes.
Excellent parking area. Some spaces are long enough that, with a little goodwill, you can park one behind another. Quiet at night, but traffic from the main road is noisy toward morning. The tourist-tax procedure is cumbersome, but you do receive a card for free use of the hop-on hop-off bus to explore the area.
Good parking spot, no services, lovely town, and free. Thanks to the town.
Good location for the town center. The night was quiet. Tourist tax only has to be paid from 1 April to 31 October.
Clean, level, quick, free, and easy to reach directly. A note of appreciation to the municipality.
Good spot for a town and harbor tour. Supermarkets directly opposite. The road did not bother us at night; we slept very well.
The tourist information office was closed on arrival and departure. The tourist tax could not be paid online or through a payment machine. The intention was there! The parking area is suitable for overnight stays while exploring the town. The night was relatively quiet. Thanks to the town of Plau am See for providing this option!
Supermarket next door. Public toilet seven minutes away on foot. Parking area is well maintained. Visiting the town center and lake is worthwhile. Thanks, Plön. Please remember the tourist tax!
We stayed here for two very peaceful nights. PLEASE REMEMBER THE TOURIST TAX so that this remains available. The whole town, including several supermarkets, can be explored on foot. A playground is near the castle. It is a parking area, so spaces are tight. But with some consideration for one another, it works. Thanks to the town for providing the space. No waste or water services because it is only a parking area!
Good free parking area for one night combined with a visit to the town. It is only a narrow parking area; two motorhomes fit well one behind the other. The old town, harbor, and shops are within walking distance. If everyone is considerate, it is perfectly fine for one night.
Quiet and free parking for one night without services. Supermarkets and the old town are within walking distance.
Close to the village. On a busy road, but quiet at night.
Thanks to the town. About ten free spaces, depending on the size of the motorhome. Centrally located and okay for one night. Shopping nearby, about 200 m; harbor about 500 m.
Anyone who wants to spend the night here is in exactly the right place.
Simple free parking area near the city. Nothing more, but nothing less. No service point for filling or emptying tanks; public bins 50 m away on the other side of the road. Quiet at night. We slept well.
Great parking spot; only the tourist tax has to be paid at the tourist information office.
Cost: paying only the tourist tax is incredibly cheap for this area! Site: a maximum of 10 motorhomes in the 7.5-meter class fit here (two behind each other). Noise: a city car park is no natural idyll! Still, it was tolerable, and the core hours of the night were very quiet. This place is an example of how it can be done! Thank you!
Very ordinary free parking near the main road, which was not too busy. (P.S.: we did not see any signs indicating a tourist tax.) No motorhome facilities, but close to both the lake and the town. Recommended for a short stop.
Five vehicles fit side by side, with another five behind them. The tourist tax of €1.50 per person per day must be paid at the tourist information office.
