Riksveg 7, 3595, Haugastøl
Been here?
This is a large parking area near a high-altitude lake, with the road on one side and railway tracks on the other. It is used as a truck trailer relay, with frequent trailer traffic and engines continuing until 1am. Despite the space and nearby cycling route, it is noisy rather than calm at night.

Forget this place! It is ugly and noisy. It is actually a truck stop where they drop off trailers. Constant trailer traffic until 1 a.m. Continue along National Road 7 beside the scenic route. There are plenty of superb spots with exceptional views.Translating
Instead of this parking lot, I parked and slept in the next one 200 meters ahead, opposite the hotel. At the moment there were no signs prohibiting motorhomes. Quite quiet, despite the proximity of the road and railway. Practical, because it is right at the beginning of the Hardangervidda panoramic road to Vøringfossen waterfall. Toilet next door.
This is a place where trucks load trailers. Very bad.Translating
Ideal place for cycling the Rallarvegen. Less suitable for overnight stays. This place is also used as a staging area for truck trailers, so we were kept awake all night by rumbling engines and drivers chatting.Translating
Enough space and the only possibility to start the Rallarvegen by motorhome in the morning, since the parking area 200 meters farther on is closed to motorhomes. A few trucks at night and the railway directly behind the parking area, but it was bearable.Translating
The parking area is okay. Plenty of space. One of Norway's most beautiful cycling routes starts directly at the car park. Definitely worth seeing.Translating
