Kalaja, 4501, Lezhë District
Been here?
This flat parking area at Lezhe Castle has wide views over the city and nearby sea, making it a good sunset viewpoint. The castle ruins can be visited for 300leks. Access requires a steep paved road and can be difficult or slippery for campers, especially in rain; for campers over 7 m, rainy conditions are considered impractical. Night-time traffic, dogs and farm animals can cause noise.

The parking area is very good, and the view is magnificent. To get there, you have to climb a paved slope; for a motorhome it is a little difficult but manageable.Translating
Impossible to get there; the stone paving on the exit is so slippery that it is impossible to drive out, and the vehicle slides downhill (the weather was good and the road was dry).Translating
Getting there in the rain with a motorhome over 7 meters long is rather impossible.Translating
Lovely place for one peaceful night, with a nice view of the town below and the citadel, around which you can take a digestive stroll. The only nuisance is that a few cars pass through and stop in the parking area until very late in the evening.Translating
A pleasant night with lovely views. Police came by and shined their lights directly into the front of the car where we were sat at the time. I got out and asked if everything was okay and they were fine. Seems its used as a way point for drug deals and people just sitting having a smoke so guess they were just looking. Lezhe is a nice place to stop for a coffee and a pizza heading North or South.
Beautiful view over the entire city, a nice place to park. There is a small 'farm' next to it, though, and the dog barks all night. Cars arrive and leave again.Translating
A perfect spot! An incredible view; the only drawback is the noise all night (hen, barking dog, rooster, and little goat). We spent one night.Translating
Very beautiful, level site (clean for once!), in my opinion suitable for four motorhomes, in the castle parking area overlooking the plain. To get there, do not use Maps; follow Waze's route, which takes you along the paved road from the town. The other route should absolutely be avoided and goes along a path full of rubbish that leads nowhere. We had no wind.Translating
Great, we spent the night there. Clean and very beautiful place.Translating
Although it is difficult to access, the place is worth it. Very level pitch with a 360-degree view. Recommended.Translating
Beautiful spot which is easy to reach with longer vans BUT if you follow google maps don’t be afraid to turn right from city center and continue steep uphill by brick road. The other way is much worse even though it looks better for the first view. Be careful for wind. We had to leave at 11p.m. because wind was shaking with whole car and it was impossible to sleep there.
Dec ‘24: We were sent up 2 different roads when following Google Maps - 1 was steep, narrow and full of people and cars, and the next one was very narrow and ended suddenly on earthy road that did not look safe, and we only managed to turn around thanks to a local who let us into his driveway.
We spent two quiet nights here in bad weather. The first approach (from the north) was easy; the access road was signposted for 1.8 km with a castle symbol. When we were in the town center and wanted to return to the parking area, Google Maps tried to guide us along a steep gravel road that ended in a dead end. The correct route is via well-laid cobblestones!Translating
Beautiful view, especially from the castle for €3. It was quite windy at night but not a problem.Translating
Very good, large, flat space, with a few dogs barking in the distance and occasional cars passing. Lovers meet here at 2 a.m.; they are not always discreet, with doors slamming. Be careful to take the access road late or early, and not in wet weather if you have a large motorhome.Translating
A nice flat spot, but the road to it is really unpleasant—uphill over stone cobbles. If you decide to drive up to the parking area, definitely return the same way. Based on personal experience, we strongly advise against the other streets. The other routes are even steeper and only gravel.Translating
Great place to spend a calm night! The water fountain nearby has really good fresh water! The road is not the easiest because it's steep and made of slippery stones. Thanks!
Incredibly beautiful panoramic view over the mountains all the way to the sea. The approach is fine with a 6 m van. Just drive slowly over the stones. A few local kids came to play football in the evening, but otherwise staying overnight was no problem. Definitely recommended for one night; there are no facilities for rubbish, toilets, or anything similar.Translating
Only van there last night - quiet night. There are dogs barking in the area but far enough away not to disturb our sleep. The road up is steep but good and not a problem for us 7m crafter. Views are stunning. Check the weather if it’s windy the parking is an exposed area. Castle closes at 4pm.
Good place, we spent the night here without any problems. We visited the castle; 300 lek per person, students free. Good views over the city.Translating
