Unnamed Road, TD7 5LQ
Been here?
This is a quiet reservoir car park with beautiful views and overnight parking allowed. There is now a £15 charge, and ground tents are strictly prohibited, although Tentbox use is allowed. Keep dogs on a leash because the area supports red squirrels, and sheep and lambs are present.

Rocked up late and missed the actual area where the portaloo is. So we carried onto this car park and weren't disappointed, when we opened the Tentbox to reservoir glistening in the sun.
#144402 - TD7 5LQ Megget Damhead Overnight parking allowed. Strictly no ground tents but Tentbox is OK. There is now a £15 charge. All monies raised goes towards looking after this beautiful place. Please keep dogs on a leash as this is a very successful Red Squirrel area. Also sheep & lambs walk freely. No services - Ranger attends everyday. Open All Year Round.
Lovely place to stay for the night, ideal for dog walking too. I spoke to a ranger on Sunday evening; she said it is free until the end of this month, then they will start charging £15.00 per night. I hope they put in a couple of bins, as there is quite a bit of rubbish around.Translating
Great park up. The ranger came by, really friendly and helpful. Apparently they ask for a £10 donation, £5 in low season, and that you only stay here if fully self contained. Toilets available at Linghope, about 10 mins down the road. Beautiful spot. Please keep it clean, some damage caused by irresponsible campers in the past.
Very beautiful spot, which is busy even in the low season with overnighting campers and other hikers. The walking route by the dam is short but very enjoyable. By the tree line, on the right as you drive into the car park (see the last photo), you are nicely sheltered when the wind blows hard. Keep this place clean.Translating
Great parking spot, spent a very quiet night there, but keep an eye on the weather as it is very exposed.Translating
Nice flat parking area for campers. 2 people here already when we arrived last night. Right next to the reservoir so great for the dogs. No facilities.
Great overnight stop. No facilities and is a bit exposed to the elements but the views are well worth it
What a amazing place would definitely be going back nice little cafe called the glen cafe about 5 mins away facing Loch of the lows that have nice food and WC to use
We have stayed at this car park twice now. It is great, mostly concrete, so it is not suitable for ground tents.Translating
