Loch Insh Outdoor Centre

It’s a car park for £20, might be excited by the lakeside but this place is ruined by the gangs of children they have staying, they are out doing activities until 9pm so they are incredibly loud, they are stressed about safe-guarding so you can only use the showers at very specific times. Also long hanging branches. The sauna here is good, not the hottest but nice to go in the loch for dips.

We had a wonderful time at Loch Insh and cannot understand the bad reviews at all. We are traveling with a dog, children, and a campervan. Everything is clearly described, and the people here are incredibly kind and helpful. We paid twice as much at other places, and here you can get a delicious meal during the day. There are great playgrounds too!

I don't know where this place gets its good reviews. The only positive thing is its location directly on the lake; otherwise it is untidy, very cramped, with low-hanging branches. And there is NO service for a price of £20. We drove on.

Stayed there for 1 night in April... Well, just a car park. We have access to the toilets, but no light when the restaurant is close. Showers are only opened between 10 am- 5pm ... but we are only permitted to park there between 4pm to 10 am! And no water. So basically, a car park for £20.

stayed here in may was a lovely place to stay with lovely view, nice bar a night and a great breakfast in the morning.

There’s a wood sauna on the lake shore (need to reserve) toilets and showers during the day and other one for the night. Very nice place to stay a night. Much cheaper (20 pound) than the other campings around (40+ per night)

The reception was friendly, but a shower without an overnight stay costs £10. I found this to be a steep price, so I moved on.

We called ahead and reception said to just turn up. Unfortunately no space to park when we arrived around 3pm (the activity centre was busy and is shared with campers) also the showers were closed. We moved on. 2 stars because there was lots going on if you want the activities, plus a sauna and restaurant

Parking area for the sports centre by the lake. The services offered are expensive. You pay £20 at the restaurant for access to the toilet and shower, which opens at 9:30 in the morning and closes in the evening and at night. No electrical hookup. Strategic point for visiting the area and with an excellent view of the lake. It becomes crowded as soon as the sports centre opens.

Perfect! Playground for the children; we ate at the restaurant in the evening, very good, and slept overnight in the parking lot :)

Nice parking area, beautiful view of the water, lots of sports and walking opportunities. Toilet in the restaurant, showers available in the surf club.

it's OK. £20 seems expensive when we had already spent quite a lot in the restaurant. be aware swimming club meets early in the morning as are deliveries to the outdoor centre. it does feel very much like you are in the way - that said the view of the loch is good and there are toilets

We are not watersports enthusiasts and came only for the view, showers, and restaurant. I would not stop here again. The showers are only available from 10 am to 5 pm, which is also stated on the website; the two cubicles have no doors and are moldy/dirty. The toilets are open 24/7 but unfortunately are not cleaned regularly either. Bins are full, toilet paper is on the floor, etc. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed early. The garbage collection arrives at 7:30 am (loud), and food was delivered at 8 am for 30 minutes (also loud). Loch Insh is beautiful, but next time I would take the free spot 1 km away.

We spent a calm and pleasant night with a magnificent view. The children's playground is really great when traveling with children. We did not use the showers. So ultimately, for our family of older children, we found it a little expensive, but if you have young children, go for it!

Stayed 1 night in a large motorhome 7 meters no issues, views stunning, restaurant has buffet breakfast, toilets close when restaurant does great facilities on the lake good for dog walking Round the lake, sat on the terrace with a wine and beer and watched the sunset

€20 per night, no services. Two parking areas, one overlooking the lake. Two small playgrounds and a couple of interesting hikes. Good place to rest. There is also a bar/restaurant open until 10:00 pm. Recommended with children, and in summer there seem to be many activities.

Lovely area with loads to do for kids. Restaurant was lovely. Dogs aren’t allowed off lead anywhere. Very very cramped car park. Not suitable for large vehicles at all. I’d say just for transporter size vehicles and no bigger. We got blocked in by 9am by multiple cars and people were waving their arms at us and shaking their heads as if we were doing something wrong even though we’d payed to stay.
