Roadside parking, mixed noise

I slept one night in the parking area at the foot of Mont Gerbier. No problem; after nightfall the road became very quiet. This morning there was bright sunshine and a magnificent view of the Ardèche countryside.

Very good location, but so much noise: vehicles pass constantly day and night, all driving like race cars. Toilets closed.

Magnificent location with a view of Mont Gerbier and the countryside opposite. To clarify, this is the restaurant parking area below the road. You have permission; we saw the manager, and it is free except in July and August (€5). A very quiet night without any honking!

Lots of spaces available in this roadside parking area. Perfect for climbing Mont Gerbier, whose ascent—and even more so the descent—is more like climbing than walking. However, I wouldn't want to spend the night there; it is really too close to the road. No officials came to ask us for €5.

Convenient, but there is still quite a lot of traffic at night. And given the crowds on May 8 with a winter camper, it must be difficult in summer... P.S. I don't understand the previous comment about the restaurant asking for €5. We are parked beside the road, not at all in the restaurant parking area below.

This is the third time we have slept on this piece of land, with no services, but what a pleasure. I went to the restaurant to point out that payment was required—€5 or buying a crêpe. I chose to move on. As for the person below wondering whether it is legal, I hope that next to the crêpes, half-crêpes, or whatever, there is a motorhome button on the cash register.

Parking for climbing Mont Gerbier, with no real spaces for motorhomes, and the drivers clearly show that you are in the way. However, it is worth stopping there. It may be suitable for the night; there is no prohibition.

Parking spaces right at the top, before the car parks. Little traffic, a quiet and peaceful place, with beautiful walks ahead.

I agree with the previous person: it is unacceptable that the restaurant below asks for €5. It is racketeering, which is a real shame, and I also think they have no right to do it.

The parking area below the road apparently belongs to the restaurant. An employee came to ask us for €5, valid for several days. He said it was indicated on the website. Nothing indicates that payment is required, and the signs for motorhomes were supposedly going to be put up tomorrow. We left, and the signs had not been put up. The location is good, but the conditions should be clearly indicated.
