A77, KA26 0JG
Been here?
This layby near the Varyag memorial provides an overnight stop close to the coast, with views over the sea and no height or overnight restrictions. There are no amenities, but it is set back from the A77 and usually has manageable road noise. Daytime traffic can be busy with boat traffic, and the area may fill up.

Layby. No height restrictions or overnight restrictions. Far enough off the main road that light overnight road noise not to much of an issue. Road busy with boat traffic in daytime. Nice view over the coast. No amenities but great overnight spot. Felt safe.
Stayed here for one night in the layby just south of Lendalfoot, close to the Varyag memorial. Road noise was not really an issue, it's not a particularly busy A road and this was a bank holiday weekend. Once the low cloud cleared a little we could see Ailsa Craig, definitely a nice sight from the camper window. Good access to the beach as well.
Quiet place with a beautiful view.
stopped here last night , bit windy but the view over to Ailsa Craig made up for it, could hear some road noise but not enough to loose sleep over it
Handy as mentioned as its near PO ferry to Larne - well set off from the road but noisy all night due to HGV ferry traffic 29/6/22
Nice little place , we stayed here on a Sunday night the road was very busy until around 10pm but quiet after that then busy again from 7:30-8 beautiful view over the coast would stop again
