Vor der Hardt, 42399, Wuppertal
Been here?
A free daytime hikers’ parking lot directly beside the Wupper, with access to hiking and pilgrimage routes. It is quiet, has no nearby residential buildings and offers a view of the water, while the centre is about 1-1.2km away. The unpaved surface becomes muddy and uneven after rain, and there is no mobile network or lighting. Walkers, joggers and dog walkers use the area during the day.

Nice stop... quiet... easy to access... starting point for a lovely walk... view over the water... very pleasant.
Simple parking lot. Muddy. Not restricted to cars. “Park at your own risk,” no mobile signal (D2). From the parking lot you can directly start a cycling tour around Beyenburg or settle in at the café by the railway crossing. The café offers rail-bike rides on the disused railway line.
I was here in the parking lot directly beside the Wupper. It rained heavily yesterday and last night. Accordingly, there are some puddles in the lot. You should not park under the trees, otherwise they drip noisily all the time. From early morning there is vehicle traffic on the other side of the river. At night it is completely quiet. It is okay for one night.
A quiet place during the week. Regular dog walkers and hikers/joggers during the day. Quiet at night. No parking problem even for a 7 m motorhome. No lighting; please take your own rubbish with you.
The place itself is really beautiful, but unfortunately, as is increasingly common: local youths come by to take drugs and drive pointlessly around, including burnouts, drag races and the like. What a shame!
Quiet hiking parking lot. In the rain it is really muddy (unpaved and uneven), but with the right footwear it is no problem. The parking lot is unlit at night. Many walkers are out in the evening, and during the day you can start a lovely tour yourself. Great view.
