Secluded lay-by, narrow access

It was ok, but the parking lot is in a valley, the cars passing by honk before going up the hill onto a narrow road, even at 2a.m.

As described several times, the approach from the north is very narrow: mirrors folded in, with less than 5 cm clearance from the stone walls on either side. Protruding or overhanging branches can also cause scratches. So spare your motorhome—mine is 7 meters long—and your nerves, as well as those of your partner. From the south it is also narrow, but much less stressful. Very little internet. But don't complain: it is what it is.

perfect park up. Peaceful, level with beautiful walks around, sound of nearby stream to lull you to sleep. The road to it is very narrow as mentioned on other reviews. Getting quite popular too . . . no facilities.

Delightful location.

A very beautiful, quiet place with minimal traffic. The approach road between two stone walls is somewhat terrifying and very narrow. I got through without a scratch in a converted Citroën Jumper.

Perfect park up. Really narrow road up to parking but managed to get my VW Transporter up. Room for about 6 campers. Really quiet night as we were the only ones there and no passing traffic. No access to toilets and no bins etc...just take your rubbish with you. would definitely recommend.

bit of a narrow and pot hol-e road leading down. plenty of spaces for a couple vans but we were the only ones there! woke up to a few dog walkers parked up as there’s a few trails in the area but overall a really quiet spot!

Perfect quiet spot for the night in our campervan. Lovely little stream next to us. All the spaces had been taken by 7pm so get there early. Might not be suitable for larger motorhomes.

Absolutely not suitable for getting there with a motorhome. We tried, succeeded with 1” on the left and 1” on the right of the motorhome and the mirrors drawn in. A camper van is much more suitable. The spot however is gorgeous.

Stayed all night, no issues whatsoever, really nice area and quiet.

We came on a bank holiday, and all spaces were occupied by 10 p.m. Some honking from passing cars during the night and absolutely massive hornets.

Very nice- very clean and quiet - better to leave some parking spaces for local people though as they enjoy parking there to walk their dogs in the woods. Surprised to find some rubbish left in the morning by local people next to our van. Shame in such a pristine place. We cleared it all up of course !

A wonderfully quiet place. It is also worth taking a walk here. Please keep this place clean and observe the signs. The approach is too narrow for large campers.

We parked up here about 3:30pm and a woman in a blue ford focus came and told us that this park up shouldn't be advertised as a free park up as it belongs to Penrice Estate. She said there were about 10 campers the night before and that it won't be happening again and was taking photos of everyone's number plate. We didn't feel comfortable staying despite having no prohibiting parking signs.

This pitch is wonderfully quiet and even offers level areas. The road there is a small adventure in itself—rather narrow—but don't let that put you off; it is worth the effort! The only downside is that the view is limited to lots of greenery. But if that is what you are looking for—absolute woodland peace and seclusion—you are in exactly the right place!

Beautifully quiet! Verrryyy narrow road on approach from the north, but made it through in our VW T6. Fine in the dry, would be a bad idea in heavy rain or freezing conditions due to the road and proximity to the stream.

Very nice little parking area for an overnight stay. Little traffic and completely quiet at night. The approach from the north is very narrow in the final section. It is manageable with a panel van up to 6.40 m, but larger motorhomes should avoid it.
