Been here?
This simple waterside parking area is well located for visiting Östersund, with the city center about 500 meters away and restaurants and bars nearby. It is free from 6 pm to 9 am and costs 5 SEK an hour during the day; payment can be made with EasyPark. Free wifi and toilets are available at or near the station. Railway noise is possible, and Friday-night music has continued until 5am.

Very nice place in the city. Free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., and inexpensive during the day as well. Toilet 300 meters toward the center, near the beach bar. Open with a credit card. Very good for dog owners. Plenty of space for walking.
Perfect for one night in Östersund. Close to the city and beautifully located by the water. Pleasant restaurant and bar nearby down at the harbor. Simple, comfortable, and yes, you are staying in a city parking lot. There is some noise during the night, but it did not bother us.
Great for visiting the city. Payment possible with the EasyPark app.
Positive: great park for visiting Östersund; in 500 meters you’re in the heart of the city. Negative: if you want to sleep do not park here on Friday night. Loud music blared until 5am and from around 3am groups of party goers were talking loudly right in the car park.
Good for an overnight stay, just a parking lot. Good for visiting the city! The toilet at the station is paid.
Functional parking area by the lake. No frills, no problems. The passing railway can be disturbing.
We only stayed here during the day to visit the city. Excellent for that and close to the shopping street. For us, there were too many other campers for an overnight stay, so we moved on.
Spent one night here with about 12 other motorhomes, but it was still very quiet. You can hear the train occasionally. Otherwise, everything is as already described: free until 9 a.m., beautiful view of the lake, public toilets about two minutes away toward the harbor, by the railway crossing.
We parked here briefly. It is free after 6 p.m.
Perfect place for visiting Östersund followed by an overnight stay.
Free between 18h and 9h, nice view and walking distance to take-aways, bakery, and city center. Stayed here Wednesday evening, at 01h I woke up thinking someone wanted to open our door with a chainsaw, but it was railway maintenance, rail is 20 meters in front of the parking lot... otherwise it was a quiet night.
Perfect place for visiting the city and then staying overnight. Easy to pay with EasyPark. Train traffic did not bother us in March. We are glad to have found such a place in winter. In warm weather there are more options with more services.
Stayed for two nights over New Year's Eve in the front row by the water—great view! Bins available, public toilet nearby, clean and heated. Thanks to Kaiman for the recommendation!
Although there are no services, this is a really good spot to park - cheap, plenty of room, right on the edge of the lake and a couple of minutes walk into the town. Highly recommended.
Simple parking area without any additional services. Very close to the old town. The signage was not entirely clear to us. Are motorhomes supposed to park directly by the railway tracks along the road? From the other comments and photos, it appears that everyone parks with a great view of the lake.
Free from Saturday at 3 p.m. and all day Sunday. Great for exploring the city in the evening.
Under railway tracks, and everything looked like one large construction site. Perhaps it is only temporarily this bad, but caution is advised.
A great place for an overnight stay and a walk around the city, close to the center. A train passes occasionally and can be heard, as can the lake and boats. We arrived after midnight and only a few spaces were occupied. Easy payment via EasyPark.
Safe parking area. Nothing special, but fine for briefly visiting the town. It does what it is supposed to do.
Large parking area, very well located near the center. Unfortunately, there was noise late in the evening from some fellow motorhome users. French pastry shop right at the corner of the first building at the end of the parking lot.
Parking very well located next to the city center and free at night, but a little noisy. French bakery at the end of the parking lot, around the corner of the building.
Recommended! Straightforward parking with EasyPark, plenty of space, and even free on Sundays. Five minutes to the center.
The view of the water was quite nice. The place itself is just a parking lot. Traffic at night: noisy youths, booming cars, and firecrackers. In the morning, a diesel locomotive warmed up with a loud roar while idling. We left 15 minutes later because it was unbearable. We would not use this place again.
The city center is about a five-minute walk away. We stayed for one night with a direct view of the water. Good for dogs, as the lakeside promenade is right outside. Public toilets about 500 m away, not clean. Free between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. Some train traffic can be heard, but it did not bother us.
Lovely view, free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. If you arrive before 6 p.m., use the app or ticket machine. The only downside is that no toilets are open, but there are plenty of cafés in town, about a five-minute walk away. Great as a stopover before heading to Norway. Would have given another star if the women's toilet had been open—the urinals were available.
Very beautiful spot facing the lake. City center nearby. Pleasant town.
Very nice place for an overnight stay and for visiting the city.
