Quiet scenic site, uneven pitches

The toilets are out of service as of this date. The first places from the entrance to the park are somewhat uneven. Access to the dumping area is difficult because of soil erosion caused by rainwater. Positive points: calm and peaceful, free, and the view is superb—it makes up for everything.✦Translating

We loved this area. Beautiful views, lots of shade, picnic tables and chairs, silence and peace. It is somewhat sloping but not excessively so. We parked in the second-to-last space and were fine without leveling blocks. I recommend going down to Portagem to spend the day at the river beach. Dogs are prohibited in that pool, but we went to the area past the bar, next to the stone bridge, where there was no problem.✦Translating

A very pleasant spot for visiting the village and spending the night, but a very slight slope means you need to use leveling blocks. The view is magnificent. The toilets are out of order, and gray-water disposal is not possible. However, black-water disposal works and fresh water is available, but be careful: there is only one tap, so hygiene is not ideal.✦Translating

We slept here on 18/6/2026. We parked in the last space, which seemed the flattest, but even so we needed leveling blocks. It has two hookups, but they do not work. Emptying and filling the water tanks do work. Very quiet, with spectacular views.✦Translating

A lovely place to park up overnight, the views are suberb and the village is a must see…able to walk the walled perimeter of the village and explore the castle too. It’s lovely to be able to walk freely without the ridiculous health & safety restrictions. The castle bar is worth a visit too for food & drinks with a view over the plain. Offering a motorhome area is great, and thank you to the town! The view is splendid, and we are just a stone’s throw from the magnificent village! For a “basic” parking area I would have been less critical, but this is a motorhome area, and it is unacceptable to have such a badly damaged and sloping surface. A bulldozer and a truckload of gravel would not cost much... I would have preferred to pay something rather than having to leave...✦Translating

We liked it here too. Yes, the spaces are sloping and really narrow—just enough room to open the door and get out—but there is a great view and it is very quiet. Strange, though, that some people still arrive after 10 p.m. and then maneuver around. The site is unlit, which we like. The broken toilet seems a little neglected. Marvão is absolutely worth seeing, and we are very happy that this free overnight parking area exists. Picnic tables and a dreamlike view—brilliant! Anyone complaining that the spaces are narrow and not completely level does not have to come here.✦Translating

Very steep parking, impossible to level even with blocks. Spaces narrow and right next to one another. Under trees, so no solar-panel charging. Picnic tables. Service area. It’s a shame—the panorama is beautiful, but that is not enough. We stayed 30 minutes instead of the planned night, so we did not visit the village or castle.✦Translating

I gave it only 3 stars because I found it somewhat neglected. Anyone with leveling blocks or supports in their vehicle will find a place here to visit the village and its castle. The toilets are there but not in operation. Water and waste disposal are available, as are small picnic tables under the trees. Very quiet, no noise. Perfect for a one- or two-day stay.✦Translating

Beautiful little village to visit. The motorhome area is small, but an 8 m camper has no problem; it is somewhat sloping, which can be solved with leveling wedges. We had a wonderfully peaceful stay. The town is incredible!!!! Absolutely worth visiting. The parking area is for vehicles under 7 m, but on 22/02 there was no running water and the toilets were closed (and in my opinion unusable). We were able to empty the toilet cassette, but there was no direct access for gray-water disposal. However, the view is breathtaking.✦Translating

We did not stay here because we had already guessed that it would be difficult to park a vehicle with a trailer up here, but we did hike here. Our first impression was confirmed. The site is not suitable for large vehicles or trailers. It is better to look for a suitable place below and hike up along the medieval road. Highly recommended.✦Translating

Really lovely town to visit. Aire is in a great location with fantastic views looking east towards Spain. Water and services working. Toilets shut. Places are very much on a slope, even with blocks so we moved down to the parking at Portagem for the night.✦Translating

The views are unbeatable. The parish is worth discovering. As for the motorhome area, unless you bring a hose or an auxiliary gray-water tank, disposal is impossible. Some motorhome owners occupy their own space and the one next to it for picnicking, despite there being tables and an area behind the vehicles. Please avoid conflicts.✦Translating
