Public River Beach

Fantastic, we stayed here for two nights. During the day, local people come here to relax. At night, a few campers. Wonderfully peaceful. Unfortunately, no five stars because of the mosquitoes, which bite very hard. After swimming you can take a cold shower.

Perfect place to stop by and spend a day or few. Beach is nice, showers are available during the summe, shaded and sunny spots, park whereever you like. Just respect the nature and locals. Recommended!

We were here in April 2026. Large areas are flooded and everything is muddy. Nevertheless, we stayed one night while passing through. In sunshine and with normal water levels, it must be beautiful.

You can stay safely and very quietly. The police patrol regularly. Unfortunately, there is currently a lot of plastic waste on the meadow. The route provided by Google Maps is not ideal.

Great place by the water, shade, no traffic, bins and a few outdoor showers. The police come by regularly to check that everything is okay. All shops are a few minutes away.

The BEST place to sleep in the area. Beautiful, shady, and free of litter. There are toilets and showers, a volleyball net and goalposts. You couldn't ask for more, thank you.

There are lots of people until 8 p.m., and then nobody! There were three of us and it was very quiet. We recommend it.

Very special, peaceful place. Outdoor showers, swimming in the river, ECO toilets, bins and drinking water. Woodpeckers in the trees, storks in the water. Thanks to the police, who make you feel safe by driving past regularly. Pay attention when approaching: you have to turn right over the dike. Just do it!!!

Lovely place; we stayed one night and everything was quiet. Thanks to the town of Županja and the police for providing the place and security. We ate very well at the tennis center.

We asked the police if it was ok to stay the night, they said no problem. Locals were there until around 9pm then it was a quiet night. Some locals in the morning too walking dogs and fishing. It is really nice spot but the mosquitoes are a nightmare, we got swarmed going to bed. The toilets are a bit grim too but it’s free. Didn’t use the shower, I guess it’s there for if you swim in the river.

The spirits work, chemical toilets and trash cans! Free with plenty of places and mosquitoes! To avoid getting confused - at the dam, drive on the unpaved road to the left!

Lovely place. They reinstalled the outdoor showers and placed toilets today. I asked, and the water is drinkable. There is a warning for "Poloji," so I don't know whether swimming is advisable.

We arrived at night and did not find the place immediately. In the morning we saw the path going uphill. Very beautiful place, with lots of storks. We had breakfast there and then left. I think it is busy in summer, and I had the feeling that it was not entirely intended for cars to be parked there, but I am not sure. A man drove up as we were leaving, and he left too.

We spent one night here after arriving at around 3 p.m. and enjoying the sunshine by the river. We greeted a local fisherman on the bank, and the police drove past three times without telling us to leave. If you keep camping within reasonable limits, do not put out an awning or anything similar, and keep everything inside in the evening, it is tolerated. So please respect those who arrive after you.

Spectacular place to stop near the river, marked as a campsite but actually free overnight parking without facilities. Chemical toilets and outdoor showers are available. Thanks to the community. We will gladly return!

Free overnight parking in Croatia is allowed at this place. Portable toilets, outdoor showers and bins are available, all clean and well maintained. You stand partly among the locals, who are very friendly and welcoming. On warm days you are definitely not alone here, which makes it special.
