A large, level tarmac lay-by set behind trees on the westbound A31, with plenty of space for overnight stays. It is free, with a hot food van from 8am - 3pm. Daytime traffic and trucks create noise, but it is quiet overnight. Eastbound traffic can use the turning 200m past to u-turn.

camped in late October in a rain storm. Good hard standing and level site. Plenty of space. A31 busy but quiet over night. will stay here again
Stayed 2 night. Daytime cars & trucks but quiet overnight. This layby is on the westbound dual carriage way and I used the turning 200m further along to get onto the eastbound
Good spot to overnight then grab a hot coffee & breakfast at the van
Ideal for an overnight stop. Food van on site
