Unnamed Road, Mooghaun South
Been here?
This is a woodland parking area beside walking trails and an old fort, with plenty of surrounding nature and quiet nights. A barrier is now in place, so it is unsuitable for vehicles above the slightly-more-than-2-metre clearance. The ground is not fully level, and there are no facilities or bins. It becomes busier during the morning with walkers and dog owners.

Spacious car park by a wooded walking area with an old fort. It is mainly used by people walking their dogs, so during the day cars regularly park briefly, but it is quiet at night. Maximum height is just over two metres. Overnight stays are legal. The police came by in the evening, greeted us, and drove on.
There is a barrier up now ! We couldn’t park there as we are too high! But it is a lovely spot if you are low enough !
Great place, lots of space in the middle of the forest, and very quiet.
The car park no longer exists.
The car park is not fully level so we had to do a little manoeuvring to get to where we were happy. No facilities or bins but has great signal. It does get busy in the mornings with walkers so cars are coming and going but the night was very quiet and sheltered. We did the hill fort walk here and really enjoyed; it was a great start to the day.
Small, quiet place on the edge of the forest. I recommend it.
Perfect parking spot for a quiet night in nature. On the edge of the forest, with lovely walks right nearby. Ideal for children. Farmhouse 200 metres away. I wholeheartedly recommend it. No toilet facilities.
