Tálknafjarðarvegur, J5H3+JH7, Tálknafjördur
Been here?
A small, quiet campsite beside the fjord and next to the local swimming pool, where pitches can be chosen freely. It has a kitchen, toilets, showers, laundry and practical waste-disposal facilities, although recent reports describe the showers as cold and the sanitary fittings as dated. Washing-machine and dryer use costs 1700 ISK for both, and the site closes by the end of September.

Nice campsite; you can park wherever you want, and the manager comes by or opens reception from time to time. Coffee is offered in the morning, and a well-equipped kitchen is available—evidence of great generosity. The sanitary facilities are clean, and there is a hot pot 3.5 km away.Translating
Very decent pitch. Accepts Camping Card. Washing machine and dryer for 1,700 ISK for both. The dryer is very slow—allow plenty of time—but the advantage is that it does not damage clothes.Translating
No hot water, and the toilets are barely adequate. Nothing to put your belongings on in the cold, medieval-style showers. Sinks—if you can call them sinks—from another era. In short, far from the 5/5 ratings given by some people.Translating
Everything is perfect. Tight schedule, but I would gladly have stayed one more night. Very friendly welcome. There is a colony of Arctic terns directly opposite the campsite. All services available. Top-notch ;)Translating
Small, peaceful campsite facing the fjord. Clean toilets and showers. Heated auxiliary kitchen. A very friendly person comes to collect payment in the evening. Note the free hot baths 2 km away, and a nearby fish and bread shop open 24/7, with delicious fish soup—very rare in Iceland. Few people; I recommend it.Translating
Very pleasant and quiet campsite, with a great swimming pool next door. Washing machine and dryer available, and a very friendly operator! Everything was excellent for filling and emptying. We felt very comfortable. Thank you very much!Translating
Friendly welcome. All services, including showers, are included in the price. Very practical emptying facilities. Payment possible with the Camping Card.Translating
Very well-located campsite; the manager is very friendly and available to advise guests. A self-service fish shop open 24/7 is 950 m on foot from the campsite. Go there—the fish soup is very good. You serve yourself and pay independently. We went twice.Translating
Small site. Sufficient sanitary facilities—at Icelandic standards. Located next to a swimming pool. Cleanliness adequate. The site manager collects payment personally in the evening. The highlight: in town, next to a small supermarket, there is a self-service fish-products shop. We bought fresh fish soup, salmon, and smoked salmon there. There were many other products, even sliced white bread.Translating
Simple, unpretentious campsite. The toilets were dirty and the bins were overflowing.Translating
The site is quiet. Everything you need is available and works. Gray-water disposal is only possible with a hose or bucket. We had nothing to complain about.Translating
Accepts CampingCard. Large meadows surrounded by bushes that may protect from wind. Friendly groundskeeper came round in the evening for payment and can give good tips for the region. Fresh water right next to the large building with sanitary facilities etc., disposal at the entrance to the site. Good 5G reception, depending on provider.
The site is okay; we had a peaceful night. Filling and emptying facilities available; toilet still in borderline condition.Translating
Campsite with some hedges for shelter from the wind. Facilities in excellent condition. Pollurinn hot tubs 3 km away. Several walking routes start directly from the campsite, clearly marked with colored posts.Translating
