Vatnsnesvegur
Been here?
A large gravel area near the trail to the seal colonies, with a view of the fjord and little traffic because of the road condition. It is accessible by camper when driving carefully and can be windy. The seals cannot be seen directly from this spot; access to them is through a farm.

Very good spot, nothing to complain about, a little windy but manageable with a roof tent. Little traffic considering the condition of the road.
Lovely and quiet. One of the horses made its presence actively known in the morning. Very sweet! It scratched itself on the motorhome’s bike rack, making our vehicle wobble.
Excellent spot that does not seem to bother anyone, except perhaps a herd of very curious ponies early in the morning. No aggression at all; we were simply in their way, and scratching themselves on the car or licking the condensation was too tempting. Please pick up your paper, even if it is biodegradable—yes, including your tissues and toilet paper. We found some left on site.
Good place for one night, behind the gravel pile. Visible from the road, but it does not seem to bother the operators of the area. Take your rubbish with you, including toilet paper and tissues!
Unfortunately, you cannot see the seals from this spot; you have to go through a farm. It is a rather unattractive gravel parking area. Better to stop farther west!
