A small daytime parking area for the Monserrate gardens, with pleasant picnic tables and limited space for motorhomes. It is convenient for visiting the palace and gardens, but sleeping is not permitted in the reserve. The approach is extremely narrow, and several recent visits reported vehicle break-ins, so valuables should not be left inside.

During the day there is no problem and it is a good place, but although there are no signs prohibiting it, sleeping is not allowed. It is prohibited throughout the reserve. I spoke with another caravan, and they had also been expelled from another area.
Perfect place for visiting the palace. We parked there with a 6.5 m van. No sign saying you cannot spend the night there.
WARNING—They opened the rear window, entered and stole a MacBook and a speaker. They rummaged through everything. This is not the first theft and will not be the last at this place. It seems to be the same people every time. We reported it to the police, but we have no hope they will do anything. Anyone who loves their motorhome should avoid driving up there. It is extremely narrow, and many vehicles, small buses and even large coaches drive through, forcing you to reverse. There are hardly any places to stop. We turned around.
We stayed here without any problems; our L2H2 managed fine. Small buses also drive up and down. You must not drive through Sintra itself, as it is very narrow.
I dared to go there with my 6 m van. But I do not think it is really authorized. I advise against it for proper motorhomes. We found space to visit Montserrat Palace, but found the side windows open and the van searched! They took nothing at all from inside.
Our motorhome was broken into while visiting Monserrate. They took an iPad and computer and also seemed to be looking for jewelry.
quite a large parking spot (day time only). No facilities at the car park, other than picnic benches in the adjacent park. Great for accessing Montserrat palace and gardens (highly recommended). The car park fills up quickly, and by midday there were no free spots left, so come early in the morning to avoid disappointment.
Perfect for visiting the Palace, free parking, shady options and suitable for most campers. Some leave spots at the top. There is a great walking path/lake behind it perfect for dogs!
