Been here?
A small, free lakeside car park beside a quiet country road, suitable for roughly 4-6 campers. The lake is very pretty, with lovely views and peaceful nights, although swimmers and paddle boarders use the area during the day. The ground can be muddy and is not entirely flat, with deep muddy tracks at the entrance after forestry activity. There are no facilities or bins.

Good spot, especially coming directly from edinburgh. the night was quiet and the lake nearby is very pretty. besides us there were 5 other motorhomes staying the night. in the evening/ afternoon the place is used quite frequently for bathing or fishing so there might be no empty parking lots if you arrive to early.
It was a very quiet night. Space for a maximum of six campers. Located by the lake. The ground can be muddy. We would come here again anytime.
Parked up about 5pm, very busy with paddle boarders and swimmers as it was a lovely hot day but we were the only van overnight. Very peaceful. Not too many midges.
Small park up area. Very very muddy. Would hold 4 campervans or 5 at a push. Litter had been dumped behind a fence including gas canisters. We picked it up. There is no bin here but why can’t people take their own rubbish away?
Very pleasant spot by the water; the view when waking up is superb, and overnight parking is free.
Very easy to find, and far enough from the road! Very quiet, but the area is not entirely flat. Can fit up to 5 campers
Stayed here last night in our tentbox. There was plenty of room for us to put our tentbox up plus our toilet tent haha. The views were stunning and there was also room for a picnic blanket to sit down by the lake, with the car in view! Would definitely be back, only us and one other van stayed the night. Just watch out for bugs falling from trees etc that wasn’t fun.
We slept here one night, it is a lovely little car park on the right side and there is the lake on the right side, with the road in the middle. No sign of no parking overnight, quiet and lovely. We picked up some trash from other people. Remember leave no trace!
Thank you. Quiet night by the lake at Menteith.
Small and convenient parking area for visiting the priory.
Beautiful spot with a view of the lake. The parking area is quiet despite the nearby road.
Deep muddy tyre tracks at the entrance from forestry vehicles put us off entering but we tested and the mud was firm so we drove in. Had the place to ourselves. No facilities but access to Lake of Menteith. Quiet at night, surrounded by nature.
Closed at the moment due to forestry work.
Closed by forestry workers, and a few meters before arriving there is another one that is also closed.
Closed due to forestry work.
Great parking spot and over night camping was peaceful for us enough space for 6 vehicles definitely recommend if your passing
The parking area is directly opposite the lake; the view is incredible. We arrived at sunset, and it was magnificent. The place is very quiet for spending the night, with very little traffic on the nearby road.
Really beautiful, peaceful view from the parking area. I could completely ignore the cars at night. Worthwhile.
Small parking area on firm, non-muddy ground, close to the road but without disturbance. Perfect for sleeping.
Good space for three or four vehicles beside the lake and surrounded by trees. We spent a very peaceful night despite being near the road. Slightly uneven.
