Unnamed Road, 37240, Lumbrales
Been here?
Remote, fairly level parking reached by a compacted dirt track about 3 km from Lumbrales. It is very quiet for overnight stays, with little light pollution and excellent views of the stars. A trail leads from the car park to the Castro de Las Merchanas, with about 3 km of walking. Follow the tourist signs from Lumbrales, as some map routes lead to impassable tracks.

Very beautiful, very quiet place to spend the night. The gravel access road is very good. The visit to the Roman fortified village is very interesting, a three-kilometer walk. Perfect with dogs. On this Saturday evening, we were alone.Translating
very nice area. very quiet and a good walk to the ruins. follow the tourist signs from lumbrales out the DSA 579 road. google kept directing us to tracks off the CL 517 road which were impassable.
No light pollution so the stars and the milky way are fantastic. A quiet place to spend the night and enjoy the Castro de Las Merchanas. From the car park there is a trail to the Veton settlement inhabited for nearly a thousand years, interpretation boards in Spainish. To access the car park start from 40.962523, -6.684483 and it's a 2.5 km drive on a good gravel road to the car park.
Quiet place, slightly sloping. We spent the night alone and were very comfortable. There is a rubbish bin, although it is full today and does not seem to be emptied very often. Overall, it is a clean and comfortable place to stay. The visit to the Castro is worthwhile!Translating
What a lovely spot, absolute quiet during the night and only a few visitors during the day. Ideal for hiking around the excavations and to soak up some history of the people of Veton. I spend 2 nights here, no issues whatsoever, no signs forbidden anything. Remote and pure, beautiful!
