Hafnarfjörður Camping

Only open from May 15. Unfortunately, we only checked the website on site. We therefore had to drive on to the only campsite in Reykjavík, which was completely overpriced.✦Translating

Only two toilets in total which leads to constant queuing, especially in the morning (and no bins in the ladies toilet!). it's nice to get free laundry done, but next time, we'd go to Reykjavik Campsite again and happily pay the little extra to get more and better facilities.✦Translating

Good, comfortable campsite. Clean toilets and showers with a coded lock. Reservation necessary online. We paid 5,400 kr for a camper and two people. Adding another night cost the same. Hot shower and use of the washing machine and dryer included. Washing dishes with hot water. No indoor accommodation or kitchen. Small city campsite with a supermarket within walking distance (Netto). Quiet location directly by the harbor.✦Translating

You know the price beforehand. It is a city campsite. I was able to reserve online for the same day without any problems. Electricity was not compulsory. Lovely location in a park. Clean sanitary facilities. Fine shower. Free washing machine and dryer! I found it a pleasant place.✦Translating

I think it is unfairly rated. It is cheaper than the one in central Reykjavík. The setting is pleasant and the sanitary facilities are fairly clean and secured with a code. I am removing one star because it is in a public park and a children's playground, so there is a lot of passing traffic. You absolutely have to reserve if you want a pitch without electricity.✦Translating

There was plenty of space at the campsite, but the reservation site showed no availability. We slept just in front of the barriers.✦Translating

Absurd price: 7,700 for a van and two people (3,500 ISK for the vehicle, 2,500 per additional person, 1,300 for mandatory electricity even though nobody was on the pitches without electricity, and 400 tourist tax). Soon it will be more expensive to camp than stay in a hotel. We left and preferred to drive 45 minutes south to a free campsite.✦Translating

We used the facility because of its proximity to the capital. Clean facilities with a security code.✦Translating

Actually a good camping spot, if it were not for the arbitrary pricing. I was there twice within two days. The first time I paid 2,500 per person, the second time 3,000. When I asked about it, the staff did not respond. The sanitary facilities are somewhat inadequate, as is often the case in Iceland.✦Translating
