Been here?
This is a free parking area beside Karlštejn railway station, useful for visiting the castle and travelling to Prague by train. The castle is about a 30-minute walk away, while Prague trains run every 20 min and a return ticket costs 3.20 euros. There are no services, and recent stays found the area suitable for one night, with trains passing during the day but not at night.

We parked and slept here for one night. It is a parking area next to the station, so trains pass during the day, but not at night. There are no facilities, but it is fine for visiting the castle and then going to Prague the next day to find somewhere to sleep.Translating
Everything was fine for us. We are complete beginners at camping and everything we needed was there. Five stars from us.Translating
As inexperienced campers, we thought the campsite was good. It is divided into two zones, for tents and vehicles. We were there on a weekday, so we had almost the whole campsite to ourselves. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Five stars from us. Everything we currently needed was there.Translating
Not bad for visiting the castle and surrounding area. Suitable for one night and little more.Translating
Free parking near Karlštejn station, with parking available for motorhomes over 7 meters as well. No services. There is a private shuttle service from the village to reach the castle.Translating
We parked in this free parking area for a few hours and walked 15 minutes to see the village and castle. We did not sleep here, but the railway tracks are about ten meters away, so I assume it is not a good place to sleep.Translating
Good place for parking, mediocre for sleeping. Lots of train noise throughout the night and people arriving by car at the station from 5 a.m.Translating
Perfect for visiting the castle. We left our van there during the day without any problem.Translating
Free parking area, a good place for a walk to the castle.Translating
Free parking for visiting the castle. Quiet and ideal for going to Prague by regional train from the main station. The journey takes 40 minutes and is quick and economical (€13 return for two adults and one teenager). The tickets are valid for all times, so there is no need to schedule your departure and return. Avoid taking the motorhome to Prague, where parking is not easy.Translating
Free parking next to train station. No service and significant noise as you would expect. However very convenient- Castle 30 minute walk uphill and train into Prague €6 return (45min). We spent 2 nights.
Free parking by the railway station. Plenty of space, including for large motorhomes. Quiet night; an occasional train passes, but it is not too bad. Restaurants and a food stall nearby. About half an hour’s walk to the castle.Translating
Thirty minutes on foot from the castle, very well located during the day.Translating
The location is perfect, but... trains pass more than once an hour, even at night, and some go very fast and are extremely noisy!Translating
