This is free roadside parking near Heidelberg Castle, useful mainly for daytime sightseeing. The castle is only a few metres away, while the city centre is far below on the mountain. The access roads are narrow, and the parking area is very steep and uneven, making overnight stays unsuitable for many vehicles. Spaces are limited and may fill early.

Good luck if you find a space. It is not bad if you want to visit Heidelberg Castle, as you can walk down a few metres. Not recommended if you plan to see the city centre because it is very high up on the mountain. The streets are very narrow, with cars going up and down on the same road. Little parking, and because the area is busy due to the castle, it is difficult to find a space.Translating
I do not understand the last review. Parking along the road, very easy to access, suitable for motorhomes up to 8 m. It is sloped, so not very suitable for spending the night, but very good for visiting the castle and the town.Translating

Very difficult for motorhomes, and worse if they are old. Maximum 6 m long. We managed to park, but it smoked quite a lot. It is very sloped and next to the road, right where there is a U-turn. Now that it is high season, it is usually full.Translating

This parking is extremely sloped but we only used it for the day to visit Heidelberg so it was perfect. Arrive early to grab a space, there is also a smaller parking pull in further down the hill which is free.

Had a peaceful night here... Vehicle is tilting from left to right... It's OK. Please take note that parking and road is closed from 6am to 12.30 noon on 28 July 2024 for Triathlon.
if you park here, only park in the allocated places. today all cars parked on the road were getting tickets
