Been here?
This parking area beside the maritime museum is a convenient overnight stop before a ferry, with harbour views and a small beach opposite. It is set back from the road and usually peaceful, although it can be windy and busy with other campers. Public toilets are across the road; they close around 5pm and open at 9am in winter. Bins are nearby, but no other facilities are listed.

Great little spot for pre ferry stop over lovely little beach opposite and toilets over the road. Was quite windy and three others had the same idea parking there. No road noise or issues felt very safe with myself and three children Translating
Amazing spot. Ideal for the evening before a ferry crossing. Quiet and great views. Lots of campers doing the same thing. Translating
Brilliant stopover for the ferry. Space for about 4 vans if not too big. Peaceful night and, as others have said, handy toilets. Large space of grass close by if you have a dog but PLEASE pick up to prevent annoying locals.Translating

Stayed here for one night, close to road so noisy with cars and people walking. No reception but close to the ferry port/townTranslating
Lovely stop over, great views of harbour and had a great nights sleep. Few people around paddle boarding and dog walking. Bins nearby and toilets (closed over night) The bistro restaurant gets busy at night but we stayed a Friday night. Translating
Weather aside, we found it a quiet spot. arrived at 20:00 with only one other motorhome, even on a bank holiday weekend. a few cars and people around but no disturbance. great view of the harbour. Extremely convenient for ferry.Translating
I parked above the maritime museum and had a quiet night. Fine if you are taking the ferry to Dublin the next morning. Public toilets were closed for repairs.Translating
When we arrived at 1 a.m., some young people were hanging around. Although they were quiet and kept to themselves, it was not very reassuring arriving at that hour. The noise from passing cars and trucks did not make the place more enjoyable, although it may be reduced if you find a spot below the road.Translating
we arrived about 5pm 1st December, nicely off the main road and less than a 10 minute drive to the ferry port. a few people passing from the restaurant about 9pm but nothing after that. beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. Translating
Fantastic spot when catching the ferry, with a lovely little walk along the shoreline too.Translating
