Been here?
A quiet, fairly level wild camping spot beside the Water of Minnoch, just off the Newton Stewart Road and within the Dark Skies area. Space is available for 2/3 vans if parked sensibly, either beside the river or near the road. The spot has beautiful views and the sound of the river, but avoid soft grass and watch for sheep droppings.

You can park right beside the river or stay along the road. Very quiet place with a beautiful view and the sound of the river lulling us to sleep.
Stayed one night and had heavy rain and fog, but even in those conditions this was a lovely place to camp. The highlight for me was waking up to the sound of a cuckoo... First one I've heard in 25-30 years. Highly recommended.
This is from faaaar the best place we spend the night during our trip, we were alone but you can easily parc 2 or 3 vans. Quiet and beautiful view
Amazing spot, peaceful and beautiful, very level. Our best stop on our trip.
Great spot! Super quiet; we didn't see any vehicles while parked overnight. Really peaceful. Flat ground, though watch out for sheep poo! Overall, a beautiful spot; we would stay again.
We stayed here for the New Year 2023/24 and it was very peaceful. There is enough room for 2/3 vans if parked sensibly but we had it all to ourselves. The ground is quite level and hard but try to stay off the grass, you might get stuck! The little river running past isn’t very noisy and from inside the van it won’t disturb your sleep.
