Beachside parking, quiet nights

Very pleasant and quiet place. It is a dead-end road ending at a small harbour, so there is little traffic. Be sure to have a coffee made from their locally roasted beans. Beautiful views of the sea and cliffs. Highly recommended, although it is more difficult for large campers to park without being antisocial or taking up too much of the road.

Nice quite flat next to the beach and dinosaur footprint. End of the street near pier: Coffee with 3 toilets (60p) and one clean shower (1£ for 1,5minutes) when open (from 9am or a bit before if they are there yet). Not allowed to tag the location sorry. Foto’s are from that place. Limited and payed parking there (didn’t check times and money) so take a stroll from this free parking spot.

5 July 2026. Large, relatively flat car park with a superb view. Very quiet night with no noise and no mosquitoes. Please respect the angled parking for vans so there is room for locals; otherwise this car park may soon become overnight parking prohibited. The car park was full that night. Thanks to Luc for showing us this place!

Best spot on Skye so far! The view is amazing, it is almost flat, and there is lots of space. Lots of midges, of course—it is the Highlands—but it is so worth it!

Shower in the toilets beside the bar at the end of the road. 60 pence to enter and access the toilets, plus £1 for 1.5 minutes of hot water, with no way to turn it off. It was clean.

Nice quiet parking spot with stunning views. Busy with cars in the day but quietens down at night. Room for plenty of motorhomes or campervans, depending how people park them. We spent the night here and slept great and could even hear the sound of the waves lapping on the beach. Reasonable 4G and phone signal. Also quiet flat too. Looks like there is also a nice walk up the hills at the back.

Great place; we stayed one night. Very busy at midday because of the dinosaur beach, but hardly any cars in the evening and very quiet. Popular with campers, though. During café opening hours, you can use the showers and toilet at the fishing harbour for a fee.

A great place for one night! The view is superb and it was quiet after 8 p.m. Only a few cows from the pasture were still crossing the road. Great spot, and they also serve delicious coffee there. Unfortunately, we did not find the dinosaur footprint.

Great views, really quiet at night and a short walk to the harbour where there are great coffees at Corran Coffee and Staffin Sauna. Good phone signal. It’s a busy car park so park tightly as possible. There are also toilets and showers available next to the cafe (toilet: 60p contactless, shower: a pound coin per 90 seconds). I think these are only open during the cafe’s opening times.

It was a good spot to spend the night, it was very quiet and no wind when we were there (I guess it depends from where it blows). The toilets and the cafe at the piers we're closed when we wanted to go (at 8:30). Toilets were mentioned as being 24/7, but the people at the café told us they were currently being cleaned.

A roadside car park with lots of coming and going and vehicles driving back and forth; it is a dead end. Completely quiet at night, with a beautiful view and an interesting beach with dinosaur footprints. Cows and sheep regularly pass by. The walk up the hill is worthwhile for the beautiful views. There is even a rubbish bin here.

A truly perfect spot: superb location, incredible view, and very convenient for spending the night. However, a major negative is the behaviour of some travellers. Many park lengthwise even though parking should clearly be angled. As a result, some large motorhomes take up the space of three vehicles by themselves, without considering others.

Unfortunately, we drove away at night because of a storm. Otherwise, a very beautiful little place.

We spent a quiet night here. Naturally, we also discovered the dinosaur footprints below on the rocky beach. At high tide they are partly covered again—you are essentially standing on a 165-million-year-old beach. A rubbish bin is available.

Incredible view for the night. There is a sauna at the bottom of the beach that can be booked; check the map.

A really great spot right by the beach with absolutely stunning views! Not really suitable for anything over 7 m as you have to park obliquely in order to keep the road clear. Arrive early or late as it gets very busy during the day. Highly recommended!!

Superb spot with stunning views all round, going to sleep and waking up to the sound of waves is sublime. Great hike up over the ridge from the end of the road. Highly recommend!

Great spot for spending the night! Quiet because it is a dead end, with the sound of waves lulling us to sleep on one side and a pretty little mountain on the other. Arrive early because the spot is quite popular. We woke up with sheep right beside us. I highly recommend this place!

We stayed the night; it was perfect.

Very quiet place right by the sea. We listened to the sound of the waves all night; wonderful. The parking area is spacious. There is a supermarket in the village with basic supplies.

Beautiful spot by the water. Many cars and walkers during the day. There were four campers with us. Rubbish bins available.

Beautiful beach and quiet night! However, this car park should only be allowed for medium-sized and small vehicles. If you decided to buy an 8–9 metre camper, you should go to a campsite instead of here. Because of you, this place will soon be prohibited.

Excellent place to stop; we were lucky there wasn't a breath of wind. Nice views, and only a few campers in October. Lots of whelks and periwinkles on the rocks.
