1 Rathausplatz, 45657, Recklinghausen
Been here?
This is a paid camper area in the P9 car park behind Recklinghausen town hall, directly beside a busy park and close to the city centre. Parking costs 8 € for 24 hours, with supply and disposal about 300m away; four spaces have coin-operated electricity. The larger car park, nearby roads and trains can create considerable noise, and the area is not always quiet. The nearby toilet facility is clean but closed on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Thanks to the city of Recklinghausen for these pitches. Directly by the park, five minutes from the city centre, with the disposal station practically next door. Attention: follow the blue motorhome signs for the pitches.
The site is part of a larger car park and is correspondingly busy. The adjacent park is also very lively. The nearby toilet facility is closed on Tuesdays and Fridays, but it is clean and free.
Thanks to the Recklinghausen district. €8 for 24 hours is perfectly reasonable. Electricity is available for four spaces via coin-operated connection. It is just luck whether one is available. Directly by the park and within walking distance of the city. It is a shame that the nearby toilets are currently out of order.
The electricity pillar does not work. All the others are occupied. We came here for nothing.
The site is directly by the park with a great playground and only pedestrians in sight, not “suspicious characters.” Unfortunately, the nearby toilets are out of order.
Very central parking area close to the city, with electrical connections but not for all spaces. Unfortunately, there are too few pitches. Partly very noisy day and night because of the surrounding car parks and nearby trains. The €8 fee is reasonable. Within walking distance there is a laundromat with a kiosk/shop next door.
We come here often and think the facilities are good. However, last Friday night in the warm weather, loud music came endlessly from a car from 3 a.m. onward. We then drove away.
Well-located pitch, but I would not spend the night here because of the high number of intimidating types around. Fine as parking for visiting the city.
Central site, close to the centre. Quiet and nice. Train traffic at night, but nothing disturbing.
Pitches right in the city. Lit at night. Bins and an electricity pillar available. It was relatively quiet at night. €8 for 24 hours is perfectly reasonable! Thanks to the city! The service station is about 300 m away at the end of a parking area.
We stayed one night and slept well. Yes, you can hear the trains. Public toilets are 100 m away next to the town hall cellar. The parking area is lit at night. Thanks to the city.
Neat parking area with an electrical connection and close to the city centre. However, many shady characters hang around, so we preferred to spend the night somewhere safe.
