We came without booking, just in time for the 6 p.m. tasting. Very good wine. The pitches are at the foot of the vineyards and marked out. We recommend it.
We tried to stay here but were told all places were booked when we arrived - so it seems you SHOULD call before arriving! Looked a nice place and helpful host advised us to go to Chateau Vachon instead (which was fabulous).
Stayed here for 2 nights, it was excellent! Stayed amongst the vines and only a short 20-25 minute walk into Saint-Emilion. No electric hook up, €4 for water and waste and free to stay - happy travels campers!
High-quality welcome from the winemaker owner, who was patient with all our questions. Excellent tasting. Saint-Émilion is a 30-minute walk away!
Magnificent views and absolute peace on this wine estate. I arrived on a Sunday, but the owners offered me a tasting if I wanted one. Thanks to them. I visited St. Emilion, which I did not know before, and it is a very beautiful, perfectly maintained village.
A very pleasant place to stay. We had a very quiet night. Waking up with the sun in such beautiful surroundings was wonderful. We received a good explanation from the owners and also tried some wines. The wine was very good, so I bought a few bottles. A big thank-you to the owners!
We spent two really peaceful nights at Chateau Rol. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Wine tasting at 6pm on arrival evening. Lovely Grand Cru St Emillions oaked and unoaked. Full of information about the process and the workings of the vinyard. 20 to 25 minute walk through the vinyards to the wonderful historic village. Bucket list stuff
Very good location and a very warm welcome. Very quiet night. Very close for visiting Saint-Émilion. Thank you very much for your welcome; we will come back when we have more time.
The place is quiet and you stand nicely next to the vines. You only get the view of St. Emilion if you set off to visit the town, which is worthwhile. For guests who do not speak French well, the obligatory wine tasting consists of drinking four wines one after another, followed by a question about which one tasted best. The entire surrounding area is rather untidy.
We spent two perfect nights among the vines, very quiet and relaxing. Warm welcome, with a tasting of four wines. The services, waste disposal and water, were also perfect.
Very pleasant hosts who passionately share their profession. Very good wines. Ten minutes by bicycle from Saint-Émilion, making it an ideal base for visiting. Very quiet night at the foot of the vines.
A wonderful place to spend the night. Close to town and surrounded by vineyards. We tasted delicious wine and of course bought some too! Recommended if you want to explore the region!
Very nice hosts, very quiet and relaxing. Beautiful view. The Grand Cru was also delicious.
Enchanting place among perfectly maintained vineyards. The owners are very kind and friendly, making your stay here perfect. The wine tasting was very good. It is free, and you should buy at least one bottle. Very clean gray- and black-water disposal for only €4. Now we are going for a walk toward Saint-Émilion, which is 25 minutes from here.
We only parked there to cycle to St. Emilion. The friendly winemaker allowed us to do so free of charge. We took part in a wine tasting and bought delicious wine. We would come again if we wanted to spend the night nearby.
A perfect place for a stop among the vineyards of Saint-Émilion. Tasting and interesting explanations from the owner. Saint-Émilion is 10 minutes away by bicycle. I recommend this place.
Slept wonderfully!! Absolutely quiet among the fully laden vineyards, then a wine tasting in the morning (wow), and we immediately selected and packed several bottles!! Finally, we harvested from the huge fig tree!! The stay was fantastic!! Many thanks to the very, very nice winemakers!
Good location, close to town. Seemed as if the lady owner didn’t really want us there. Water filling is not drinking quality, tank is very dirty. Better options with better facilities in the area.
Lovely, friendly welcome and warm conversation over a very informative and enjoyable tasting, showing their passion for the profession. Recommended.
Perfect location among the vineyards, 10 minutes by bicycle from St. Emilion. Wine tasting with very friendly and welcoming owners. We were able to empty our tanks and refill for €4.
lovely and peaceful. 30 minute walk into St Emillion. lovely owner who gave us a tasting session, we then bought far too many bottles as they tasted amazing. no services that we could see, but understood there was water. would recommend, please respect the stop as it is also someone's home
A super pleasant, quiet place. Fifteen minutes by bicycle from Saint-Émilion, a characterful town that is well worth seeing. The owners were not there, so a very kind family member welcomed us with the order forms for a small tasting. We bought a few bottles.
Great spot, pleasant tasting, reasonable prices. We had the spot to the right of the fig bush, in full sun in the evening (Renault van photo). Excellent among the vineyards and a 30-minute walk from the center of St. Emilion. Very nice.
We spent one night there. Ten minutes by bicycle to the center of Saint-Émilion. Tasting with the owners at 6 p.m. Friendly atmosphere and great peace and quiet. Thank you.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is ideal among the vineyards. The welcome is friendly and the wines are very good without being expensive. Ideal for visiting Saint-Émilion.
Very beautiful place among the vineyards. Twenty-five minutes on foot from St. Emilion and 10 minutes by bicycle. Very welcoming owner. Offers wine tasting. Very quiet night among the vines. Perfect!
Great place among the vineyards, 25 minutes on foot from Saint-Émilion. Wine tasting and sales, as well as grape-seed oil.
The wine tasting is actually a tasting of wines for sale, with no obligation to buy. Even so, the opportunity to spend the night among the vineyards is appreciated. Total peace and quiet. Twenty-five minutes' walk from Saint-Émilion. The host only speaks French. If you are a couple, English and French are spoken. Thanks!
Good welcome from the owners, magnificent surroundings among the vineyards. You can taste their wines and buy them at good prices. Saint-Émilion is a 20-minute walk away. Highly recommended.
Super spot, the gentleman who lives there is very pleasant and was happy to have us stay. The wine tasting was generous and the prices very good compared to purchasing in St Emillion’s many wine shops. The night was very quiet and there are facilities for emptying the toilet and waste water, as well as for filling with fresh water.
Simple and quiet area, friendly welcome, various ranges of wine.
Same as other comments - great peaceful spot and friendly host, with a beautiful walk through the vineyards to St Emilion. Were able to top up with water for a few euros and got there just in time for the 6pm wine tasting. Thank you hosts for a great stay.
Great welcome, good tasting, our stop was very enjoyable. Waking up among the vineyards—what a joy!
We arrived at noon and the lady of the house welcomed us very warmly. Since it was outside the season, we were immediately able to taste the estate's wines and took two bottles of the country wine with us. We were the only guests and spent an idyllic, peaceful night beside the vines. About 30 minutes' leisurely walk into town. There is a delicious bakery nearby. Recommended!
