OT Leisten Hofseestraße, 19395, Karow
Been here?
This small, simple campsite beside the lake offers a friendly welcome, clean but basic sanitary facilities and bread delivery. It is about 8 km from Plau by bicycle, with walking opportunities around the lake. Guests arriving after 6 p.m. can drive onto the site and register the next morning. Some pitches have lake views, while camper pitches may be screened by trees.

We stayed here for two nights and felt completely comfortable. The welcome was very friendly and warm, making us feel welcome immediately. The area is excellent for long walks with dogs. We would gladly return and can recommend the campsite to anyone who values relaxation in nature and a dog-friendly environment.
A really nice, small site without much comfort, but sufficient. Basic yet clean sanitary facilities. Very friendly welcome at reception.
We stayed there for one night and had a lake-view pitch for €32. The sanitary facilities were clean but rather basic. Reception was friendly and helpful. We would gladly return :)
We arrived without a reservation and got a pitch without any problems. Friendly welcome; sanitary facilities were okay.
If you like things quiet and simple, this site is ideal. As tourists, we did not get a lake-view pitch, but the trees protected us from the strong wind. Bread roll service and some groceries are available at reception. The beach was just a little small, and you have to walk through the seasonal campers' caravans to reach it.
Beautiful, quiet site. Toilets were clean, but it is somewhat far from the nearest town, Plau am See; with bicycles, it is no problem. One night for two people with electricity cost €26.
We arrived late but had emailed in advance. A note on the reception door directed us to where we could park. Very clean and quiet camping site. We paid 35,80€ for 1 night.
No one at the campsite reception when we arrived. Without electricity or a shower, the price was €23. No gray-water disposal. Cassette emptied into a hole. Staff were unfriendly when we left. Avoid this campsite.
One star for the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. The last pictures show the camper pitches, with no view of the lake, yet we had to pay €65.80 for two nights (two people and one dog). Card payment was not possible and I did not receive a receipt. No gray-water disposal, despite being in a nature reserve. Conclusion: a lot of money for nothing.
I agree with the previous writers on some points, but not on others. Everyone should decide for themselves what they expect from their “spot.” It should be mentioned that you can ONLY pay cash at the site. We therefore had to cycle to Plauen, 8 km away, to get cash. It is easy to reach by bike, though. It worked for us :)
A very beautiful, quiet site. Unfortunately, there were a lot of mosquitoes, so insect repellent is essential! The lake is inviting for swimming. Friendly operators, and there is a bread-roll service. The sanitary facilities are very clean. We would come again.
I agree with the previous reviewer. Emptying the toilet was possible, including rinsing; there was a tap a little farther on. No grey-water disposal, unfortunately. Otherwise, a great location and very quiet.
Actually a nice site, with lots of mosquitoes included—no one can help that. It is very quiet and nicely located, and Plau can be reached by bike. Compared with other sites, it is somewhat too expensive because not all advertised services are available. Showers cost €1.50 for 4 minutes, there is no grey-water disposal, and the chemical toilet disposal is awful, with nothing for rinsing. There is no official swimming area.
Terrible chemical-toilet disposal. You simply dump it into a slurry pit! There is no way to rinse the cassette. Otherwise, you stay on a partly grassy meadow, which is too expensive for what is offered. Very quiet location. The sanitary facilities at reception are excellent. Fine for anyone without high expectations.
