A roadside lay-by near Pen y Pass, useful for walking on Snowdon, with beautiful mountain views. It is within 25 minutes’ walk of the Pyg and Miners tracks, although the road can be noisy and vehicles travel fast. There is enough room for vans to let traffic pass, but motorhomes may only fit at the ends. Mobile coverage is limited, and a pub is 5 minutes away.

Only acceptable if the aim is to hike Snowdon, although it adds 2.5 km of uphill and downhill trail before reaching the official starting point. It is beside a noisy road with cars driving fast, and there is little space for a motorhome except at the ends, where we were lucky to find a spot. No mobile network. Beautiful views, however.
Great location within 25 minutes walking distance of the beginning of the Pyg and Miners tracks up Snowdon. You will find a small footpath which follows the winding mountain road to the Pyg-pass car park and YHA hostel - so you can avoid the slightly dangerous road. There is also a pub 5 minutes walk away which is open until late. No parking fee. We stayed the night in May with ease.
Stayed for two nights, with beautiful views. We just about got internet on Three mobile, but none with O2. The road gets very quiet during the night.
