Unnamed Road, 34660, Cournonterral
Been here?
A secluded hillside spot with beautiful views and walking paths, but access is currently problematic. Attempts from different directions found signs marked “propriété privé” everywhere. The approach roads are rocky, narrow and exposed to strong winds, with a particularly tight passage of about 2.5m.

We tried to get there from different directions, but found signs everywhere saying “private property.”
Isolated and quiet spot, perfect! However, the road is rocky and there is strong wind up on the heights.
Really great place. However, it is very isolated. As a woman alone, when I heard a car pass without lights at midnight, I preferred to leave—it seemed suspicious. It is a dirt track that leads nowhere other than the hills. Also beware of wide vehicles; even with a van, branches will scratch the bodywork.
Very nice spot, flat with a great view. Also, the road is not as bad as some people say. The last 100m is a bit rocky, but not a big deal. There’s only one very narrow passage, about 5m long, where bushes are very close on both sides (maybe 2.5m apart), but was able to get through easily with my Ford Transit.
The view really is sublime! But the access road is chaotic: narrow and covered with huge rocks. The ground is earthy, so be careful if it rains! We had to leave by another route because the mud made it impossible by car. Two stars deducted for the road. Otherwise, the place is quiet and you will not meet anyone. Very pleasant!
Great place in the middle of nowhere. Didn’t meet anyone for a couple of days. On the map it looks like a river near by, but unfortunately it’s dried out. Was surprised I had internet connection here.
Very beautiful view. Fairly easy access, although a little rough, so watch your ground clearance. Very quiet, with plenty of available spaces.
Very good views and very quiet for spending the night. No facilities or shade.
Follow the “DFCI AUE 4” track. Wide, loose-stone road intended for firefighters' wildfire trucks. No services, of course. Many individual pitches along this track. Magnificent natural site that must be respected. Be careful to respect the properties marked private.
You must not be afraid of scraping a little. But it is a fantastic spot, with a beautiful view and peace and quiet. It is better to bring heating during this season!
Well... I am not usually one to criticize, but just to warn you: the road is extremely rocky and very narrow because of vegetation scraping against the bodywork. I have an H2L2 van and could not reach the end. I had to reverse all the way, which was extremely difficult. I stopped halfway; it was dark. Tomorrow is another day.
