Lake parking, busy daytime

Based on the reviews, we had no particular expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. The toilets and showers were perfectly fine and were cleaned in the evening while we were there. Given the good location, we find the price completely reasonable. It gets very crowded during the day, but in the evening you can find a good spot and the night was very quiet.

We spent one night here on 18 June 2026. The forest is magnificent and the walk around the lake is a must. However, €22 for the night for sloping pitches, especially with toilets that are unusable because they are extremely dirty, and showers you do not want to use either, is really far too expensive!

We slept here on 11 June. The souvenir shop asked us to pay €22. A man checked the following day. We also paid €3 for parking, in addition to the park entrance fee. Expensive considering the toilets are in a disgusting state. The lake walk early in the morning is magnificent. We ate at the restaurant next to the lake, which was quite good.

We were allowed to stay overnight here for free, perhaps because it was the off-season. Only the €4 per person entrance fee was payable. The car park is nicely shaded and you can take wonderful hikes from here!

Camping is free at the moment! The only charge is the park entrance fee of €4 per person. Ideal starting point for hikes. Very quiet night. The park restaurant is very pleasant.

Impossible to sleep there; a guard asked us to turn around.

I did not spend the night here; I parked to walk around the lake, which is very pleasant. The toilets are indeed in a terrible, unusable state. However, there is a small fountain right in front, which allowed me to fill my water containers.

We found a flat spot in the car park. However, the facilities are unusable because they are in a deplorable state. We warned the female guard, who asked us to pay €22 to sleep there, saying, “It’s not my problem; if you want to sleep there, that’s the price.” The walk around the lake is pleasant, but there is not much water left!

We only parked here during tb day to go for a walk. In August the lake water is really low and it mostly looks brown and weedy, not like the photos suggest! Toilets are acceptable. Access road is narrow and busy, and car park busy too. Overnight spots are just wherever you can find amongst the cars, again in early afternoon it was hard to find a space and certainly nothing flat.

Only recommended from the evening onwards, as there is heavy excursion traffic during the day. Toilets okay, showers cold but clean. Good starting point for hiking in the beech forest.

Recommendation: arrive in the evening and walk around the lake early in the morning, when you will be alone. There are some nice pitches, but many are sloping and not necessarily suitable for large vehicles. Toilets were reasonably clean; we did not test the showers. Park entrance €4 per person, plus €22 for camping. Fine for one night.

Nice place; you pay, so to speak, for being in a protected natural park. Clean bathrooms, but there is no way to lock the doors. The lake is rather stagnant at the moment. Good starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains.

Good spot. Very busy during the day, worth arriving late afternoon. Several options for nice level parking. Showers and toilets very clean. bins available. lovely walk around the lake, best go early before it gets busy. Expensive but worth it.

Very beautiful place, but absolutely avoid weekends because it gets extremely crowded. Prefer arriving during the week or at the end of the day. Very shaded and cool.

Everything you need is there. We initially had to park in a second row, but once hiking time was over, the car park emptied and we had our choice of spaces. The walk around the lake was great with our children, aged one and four!

Excellent night despite a little rain. Not much space for large motorhomes. Toilets and shower okay, but I saw no electrical hookups. Beautiful walk around the lake, with some additional hikes possible.

What a wonderfull location. 22 is not much for such a place with hot showers, electricity, toilet, wifi and drinking water. Minus 1 star for the crowd during the day, but when you hike into the mountain you hardly see anybody.

We spent a quiet night directly by the lake. The showers are warm. However, the doors of the showers and toilets do not close properly. There is Wi-Fi in the nearby restaurant.

A very nice place, beautiful and quiet for the night. We paied 4€/person and 22€ for the night so a total of 30€, a bit expensive even if u have wc (not proper) and a warm shower in the morning (floor dirty with mud and not possible to close) but we had wifi.

Touristy during the day, but at night you are alone in nature with just a few others. Entrance €4 and the overnight fee as described. Unfortunately, we had continuous rain; otherwise we would have stayed several nights.

Great place in the forest, busy during the day and very quiet at night. €20 per camper plus €1 per person, plus €4 per person park entrance. Sanitary facilities acceptable, but only cold water. Reception supposedly open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but when I went to pay at 7:45 p.m. nobody was there, nor was anyone there in the morning when we left.

Great place right by the lake! We paid €4 entrance per person and were able to stay overnight in our VW Caddy without an additional charge. The night was pleasantly quiet. There are toilets, water and a few power outlets.

Car park in the national park next to the famous lake, among the trees. Toilets available. We paid €22 to stay overnight with a camper and two people. Busy during the day, but quiet after 6 p.m. There is a restaurant, but it closed at 5:30 p.m. Worth four stars for the serene peace by the lake early in the morning, at 8:30 a.m. We had the lake to ourselves and heard trout jumping and birds singing.

An excellent place. Very quiet, safe and immersed in nature. A short walk from the lake, with toilets and showers available and, with a bit of luck, electricity too. We were pleasantly impressed.

We stayed for one night. The price is €22 for a van and €4 per person to enter the park. At nightfall, spaces become available and we were lucky enough to park opposite the lake. Toilets and showers are also available. During the day we walked around the lake, about 3 km, and a lady at the visitor centre recommended other walks nearby. We did the Bendovac hike, about 15 km and four hours, which gave us an impressive view of the lake. Recommended!

Spent one night. Very nice facilities with places to make a fire. Electricity available. €6 per night with one car and a tent. Very quiet in the morning. We were alone by the lake.

We arrived here in the evening and found a very quiet place and a beautifully landscaped park. In the morning we walked around the lake and quickly left before the tourists arrived by bus. It was perfect for that. Not recommended for a longer stay.

Beautiful shaded parking spaces in the forest. Buy the annual pass for the five national parks for €13.50, available at the entrance below the barrier. Otherwise you have to pay daily admission, for example €5 in Durmitor National Park. An overnight stay here costs an additional €20; they seem to want to discourage campers.

A beautiful area but we couldn’t park anywhere and the 20€ on top of the 4€ per person entry to stay overnight in a car park is too much. The campsite down the road for 15€ next to the river after hiking around the lake was our place to stay.

Currently €22 per night plus €4 per person to enter the park. Toilets and shower very clean. We only parked here to do the hike.

It's a very busy parking lot. Almost no flat spots. When we were there (on a weekend) it was packed full with day visitors from the area who stayed until late. With so many people one can imagine what the basic toilets & cold showers looked like. We didn't stay, €20 is overpriced. Maybe it benefits the park & because of that it's justified. Stayed at the nice, little campground down the hill.
