Mountain pass, very cold nights

Fantastic views. Most spaces are somewhat sloping. A herd of cows grazed directly beside the spot. Internet is very weak. Hiking with a dog on a leash is allowed.

Parking accessible at the top of the pass. Magnificent view when there are no clouds. No cows this time. Five vans/motorhomes slept at the top. Bring warm clothes and a warm blanket—12.5°C inside this morning!!

Top location for lunch; we did not stay overnight.

A very good night at the Col d’Aspin, with cows and other vans and motorhomes. Magnificent sunrise and sunset! Woken by the farmer and his dog “Caramel,” who clearly had no intention of working on a Monday morning!

Magnificent, but unfortunately too busy even in September. Do not pass within 3 metres of the cows, because they charge. Another major disappointment caused by motorhome users: someone emptied a toilet cassette at this beautiful site where animals graze. Scandalous!

Very quiet and cool night, even in August. Lots of campers and it is difficult to find a level spot, but if you are not too fussy, you can find something even when unlucky enough to encounter so many vans.

An excellent place to sleep and watch the stars in nature. No traffic at night, so it is very quiet.

A superb view, a magnificent place, cows for company, and little traffic once night falls. The only drawback was that the parking area filled up quickly; there were about twenty campers.

Good spot for spending the night, even though the ground is not flat everywhere. Beautiful view, but the sun gets hot quickly because there is no greenery around. Convenient for hikes starting at the end of the parking area.

Too many people in the parking area, so we went a little farther along the path on the right. The view is very beautiful.

On arrival, around 6:30 p.m., there were already six campers. However, if you have a 4x4, you can get just one level higher from the parking area, about 20 metres higher. There is room for one smaller camper, provided you want to park it horizontally. Beautiful view, and you look down on all the campers parked below ;-) but you are completely alone. The slope is a bit rough but very manageable.

From the parking area on the pass, you have a beautiful view in both directions. It is a popular pass, so it is often busy during the day with cyclists, motorcyclists, cars and campers. It gets quieter in the evening, but in summer you certainly will not be alone. At night it is very quiet. There are no facilities, so take your rubbish with you. There are plenty of bins in the valley.

Spaces on the pass parking area. It empties at the end of the day, but it remains a well-known spot among campers, so you will not be alone. Very beautiful view of Pic du Midi on one side and the pass on the other. If everyone does their part, everyone can have their own space with a lovely view. You fall asleep and wake up to the sound of cowbells.

We slept there one night. There was a lot of fog when we arrived, so we did not enjoy the views. We spent a very peaceful night surrounded by many vans.

Super spot, flat ground, sun until late because we are on the pass, with the sound of cowbells in the distance. Very pleasant!

Slightly sloping dirt parking area right at the top of Col d’Aspin. We did not spend the night, but it seems like a good place to do so.

Excellent place with a superb 360° view and a view of Pic du Midi, all in complete peace and quiet because we were alone. We saw some ibex in the evening, but no cows while we were there.
