Been here?
This is a quiet Ridgeway parking spot surrounded by fields, nature and countryside views. Dog walkers and ramblers use it, while the area can be exposed and windy; a 6.3m van was reported as tight to position. Walks lead to Wayland Smithy, Uffington White Horse and Ashbury, where there is a pub. There is room for at least 6 more vehicles on both sides of the road.

spent a peaceful couple of nights here. very chilled area surrounded by fields, loads of nature about too. loads of dog walkers come and go but no bother.
Excellent parkup, stayed on a Tuesday night. Very little traffic past by. One other vehicle there, room for at least 6 more on both sides of the road. Went for a walk on the ridge saw Kites, Deer, Rabbits. Would definately return.
Fantastic spot with views, Ridgeway walks to Wayland Smithy, Uffington White horse or down into Ashbury to the Rose & Crown pub. Quite exposed and windy on our visit. just got our 6.3m van in but it's tight for space. No disturbance at night. Please leave it clean!
A pretty spot with some nice views but traffic noise went on really late and started again early in the morning. Which if you’re used to living in a quiet village as I am, and are a light sleeper, will probably keep you up. Lovely walks from here along the Ridgeway, and close to Wayland smithy. Can choose to park on either side of the road as well. We were the only ones there when we visited.
Great park-up. Quiet and level, although there were a few large puddles. Three other vans stayed overnight. We will definitely use this place again.
One of the most beautiful spots I've ever been in. Quiet, all campers respectful and the police only stopped by to enjoy the view on their lunch break. Please keep it pretine and open to all!
lovely little spot, view was beautiful, saw a herd of deer in the morning! plenty of flat space and very quiet, stayed on a Saturday and only 2 other vans there. Sunday morning got very busy with ramblers as its along the ridgeway. would reccomend!
A great spot.. we stayed for 1 night and had a lovely walk from here with the dog to the white horse monument in the morning which was off road all the way so the dog was off lead throughout
I love this one, right on the edge of the dramatic ancient landscape of the Ridgeway and Uffington. There are other spots nearby, too, where minor roads cross the Ridgeway. Surface is heavily potholed but there's space to park either side of the main road. It's a fairly busy commuter road in the mornings but there's nothing much during the night.
three of us stayed here last night in converted vans and had no problems at all. level parking and a quiet night. Happy days
had very quiet night. level ground and lovely views. couldn't really fault this little gem
Quiet and safe spot just off the lane. Great for an early start on the Ridgeway.
Stunning spot. Quiet night with no disturbances. Short walk to Wayland Smithy barrow. We will be back.
A great spot despite the unseasonal high winds. Quiet night with no disturbances. Stunning views and just a shortish walk from waylands smithy barrow. We will be back I’m sure.
lovely little car park. Very quiet and peaceful night. stunning view in the morning.
Had a brilliant night here; it was completely empty after 9 p.m. Absolutely gorgeous views. We will definitely return.
