Been here?
Peaceful riverside wild spot with space for several vans by the Creuse, shaded in a small wood. Most recent stay (July 2026) reports it perfect with 4G, swimming possible, and trash bins available. Earlier comments note muddy edges especially after rain, some litter, and road noise at the entrance. Fishing possible with federal permit. Access by dead-end country road.

Perfect spot, lots of space. I spent several peaceful nights here. Swimming is fine, 4G works, and bins are available. Thanks for sharing.
Quiet, in a wooded area beside the Vienne. We were alone, with houses quite far away. Really good for an overnight stop, but be careful if it has rained—it may be muddy.
Beautiful place by the water. Very picturesque! A few homes nearby, but we had no problems apart from the one opposite the waterfall, which seems to be inhabited by some sort of “dogman”… if that doesn’t scare you, go for it!
Ideal place for nature and water lovers. We stopped just for lunch, but it is very pleasant. We were alone, so our dog was able to enjoy running around too. There is room for several motorhomes.
Small country lane beside the Creuse. A wide area covered with tall grass at the very end of the lane for the more adventurous (a motorhome was there when we passed). In very hot weather, some people come to swim. This place would be dreamy if it weren’t for some litter and dog mess. It spoils the image a little, but it is fine for an evening and overnight stop!
Pretty quiet but still some road noise. Plenty of litter too but if we all pick up a little then all cool. Spent a night here being serenaded by the frog chorus and watching Coypu
Don’t hesitate to go all the way to the end of the lane! An ideal spot for a van or motorhome, even a large one, to spend the night lulled by the sound of the small waterfall.
The ground is covered with branches and has been rutted by tractor wheels. There is still one place on the stone, as shown in the first photo, but no more room if you want to leave passage. A van could fit there, but there are bins. A small natural dam is opposite; unfortunately, it is no longer possible to sleep there…
Pleasant in the spaces at the back for enjoying the river. At the entrance to this area, the road is noisy. Be careful at the edges, as there is a risk of getting stuck in mud even with a small vehicle.
Several places beside the Creuse, accessible to all vehicles. Dead-end road. Bin available. Quiet and shaded. The edge is a little muddy because farmers come to pump water early in the morning!
Extremely shaded along the river, but the ground is muddy and unpaved. Definitely damp. Very narrow, making maneuvering difficult. Just before the river starts, there is one spot on gravel.
Very good spot for one night, quiet, beside the water. We were alone at the spot! A good place to rest before continuing the journey. I recommend it!
Pleasant and quiet place. We had a very good night beside the river. No harmful lighting. Possible to get through even when the ground is muddy. Too bad about some toilet paper at the back, probably left by fishermen.
We loved spending the night beside the stream. No noise at all, peaceful, with fishermen arriving without causing any problems. Fortunately, the weather had just returned to good conditions. After heavy rain, I’m not sure it would be possible to park there.
Level spot about 300 m after starting along the dirt road, immediately after the rapids on the river.
Very peaceful little spot; we were the only ones there. The neighboring farmer does indeed come to fill his tanker around 9:30 in the morning. Park after the second half of the lane to leave access clear for tractors and local fishermen. Room for at least four vans without inconveniencing one another. Motorhomes are possible, although the lane is quite bumpy.
An extraordinary place. Very quiet beside the Creuse. Excellent swimming at the end of a hot day. Fine for a large motorhome (7.4 m). Continue to the end of the dirt road, up to the corner at the level of the river’s drop.
Absolutely dreamlike place. If you drive all the way to the end, you reach a spot beside the rushing stream, under ash and alder trees—lovely for cooling off in the stream.
Perfect for spending the night, quiet and peaceful beside the stream.
Turn around before you get stuck. It can be very muddy!
Indeed, as mentioned previously, a lovely place to stop to the sound of birdsong. We had a good night there and recommend this quiet spot.
