Camping la Chaumière

Beautiful photos to lure you in, but far from realistic. Only one barely adequate shower, without lighting; an exorbitant price for what is provided. The pool does not justify the three stars. Municipal campsites are a thousand times better equipped and maintained. Avoid!!

It’s very pretty and convenient for the ferry but in need of some TLC. Lovely grass pitches with birdsong and a natural feel. Toilets and showers badly need updating. No paper or soap or hand towels. Bar not open while we were there and didn’t see any evidence of a pool. Also they don’t take any kind of bank card. Cash or international bank transfer which means a fee. Makes it a bit expensive.

This campsite lost in Flanders is calm and pleasant. The managers are genuinely friendly and very attentive. The pitches are large and mostly shaded. Some require a few maneuvers to access, but without real difficulty. The sanitary facilities are less modern than others but clean and very well maintained. We spent two very good nights and enjoyed the pool.

Very nice little campsite with many activities available on site. Absolute peace and quiet—we are in the middle of nowhere and loved it!!!

Passing through for one overnight stop in a motorhome, we appreciated the friendly welcome, large grassy pitches with a stabilized section, useful after rain, and the green, peaceful setting. We also enjoyed the family restaurant, serving home-style food. The site can be booked for group events and is well suited to them.

Site has great potential and we did enjoy our stay however the toilets, shower and facilities would benefit from an upgrade. The pitches were huge and staff were friendly, the swimming pool was an added bonus. €28.70 for one night, 2 adults with electricity. Be sure to ask about check in times as we arrived at 2:45 and no one was at reception until 3:30 despite the opening times on their website.

XXL welcome from the extremely pleasant and friendly owners. I highly recommend it; the spaces are very large and the surroundings pleasant.

We spent an excellent weekend. Very nice owner, excellent food, the heated pool was perfect, and the pitch was large and tree-lined. Olivier and Elena.

Lovely peaceful little campsite - ideal stopover for Calais. Toilets and showers, electricity and water on pitch all included - €26 in July. Lovely for walking or cycling. Restaurant in the village - 20 mins walk.
