Lochranza Campsite and Golf

Spacious campsite with enough wind to keep the midges away. Red deer graze along the edge of your tent.✦Translating

We spent two nights at the campsite and had reserved online. Very friendly welcome. Simple but beautiful campsite. Unfortunately, it rained continuously during the two days we were on the island. The drying room and covered outdoor cooking area were worth their weight in gold. We used the campsite to visit the distillery, which is only a few minutes' walk away and highly recommended—as are the pub in Lochranza and the Sandwich Station. We would definitely come back.✦Translating

Perfectly acceptable site, just lacking the finishing touches. Given it was early in the summer season everything felt a bit tired and the welcome felt the same. The pitches were flat and a good size. Showers could have been warmer..first world problems! Be sure to pop into the Stag tearoom outside the gate and buy some homemade salami (pheasant, venison, lamb) made by the proprietor,delicious!

Great location, stunning views and walks. A good place to tour the island from. The coast road is well worth taking for swimming and seal spotting. Friendly people and a good mix of ages. The only negative is the cleanliness of the toilets and showers. The standard could be better. Pleasant stay overall.

Staff very friendly, clean toilets and showers, great place to catch the ferry. Lovely sandwich place in Lochranza.

Very good site, only stayed the night as got the ferry out. Got the van stuck and the staff (Gavin I think his name was) helped me with his tractor. Showers were clean, the toilets were well looked after. The sandwich shop opposite the ferry is banging

Lovely campsite - deer all around and lots of walks to go on - we had a pitch for our camper right next to a stream - very friendly welcome - good facilities including a common room with fridge and freezer kettle etc and an outside covered cooking area- also place to dry damp clothes- bus service but not that great - very poor wifi otherwise would be five star

Great place. Facilities clean feels spacious. Helpful staff. Only let down wifi pretty much defunct. Bus just outside a bit hard to understand. Deer come into campsite at night.

Stayed 3 nights. Campsite full but feels calm, spacious enough. 4G is useless on Three and EE but site has WiFi (took a few goes to connect). Lovely location below rugged hills. Hiking around the coast to the north is top notch if hard going in places. No shops, come with food. Grey drain awkward without a pipe or bucket. £30 for two and 6m motorhome. £6 more for hook-ups. We loved it here.

Stayed here for our first night on Arran. Had a grass pitch with no electric. Thankfully not busy as I think it may feel crowded if campsite was be full. Facilities fine. Able to walk to Lochcranza castle. Plenty of deer around in the mornings and evenings.

The location alone makes this worth a visit. Surrounded by hills on 3 sides , a babbling burn and great sunsets. It doesn't hurt that the Arran Distillery is a stones throw away. Walk the coastal path to watch seals basking and witness Hutton's Un-Conformity

We stayed here for three nights in a VW van. Sanitary facilities were okay but had few shelves, only hooks. Fellow campers could leave the clean showers and washing-up sinks tidier. Deer come right up to the van. The restaurant next door was unfortunately always fully booked for us, and so was the pub in town. The sandwich stand at the ferry terminal had a long queue. It is a popular area, good for hiking or for the crossing toward Kintyre and Islay.✦Translating
