Daytime camper parking for visiting Peyrepertuse Castle is available from September 1 to June 30. The steep, narrow approach has very tight switchbacks, and the walk to the reception and upper car park takes about half an hour. Campers up to 7m have reached the upper parking area outside July and August, while the hike to the fortress is strenuous.

Day parking next to the entrance of the castle. Road up to it is steep and narrow with very tight switchbacks. Hike up to the fortress is strenuous but totally worth it!
At this time of year (December), and with a 7-meter motorhome, we drove up to the highest parking area.
Parking for motorhomes measuring more than 7 meters. The drive up takes about 20 minutes along the road.
With a motorhome up to 7 meters, you can drive to the top. Overnight stays are prohibited throughout the area.
This parking area is very convenient for visiting the castle, but it is a 30-minute walk uphill. If you have a motorhome under 7 metres, you can drive up to the castle parking area, except in July and August.
We went up with a 7-metre coachbuilt motorhome. The road is narrow, but with care and skill there is no problem getting there. We arrived around 3:30 p.m. and found very few cars on the road and in the car park. A visit to the castle is highly recommended. You have to pay an entrance fee.
The castle is absolutely worth visiting. However, banning motorhomes from the road leading to the upper car parks in July and August is harsh, especially since once you reach the reception area, there is still a considerable climb.
Parking area for visiting the spectacular Château de Peyrepertuse. Parking here is mandatory in July and August; the rest of the year, and for small motorhomes, you can access the upper castle car park.
