Les Ecluses, 1997, Nendaz
Been here?
Free flat parking area at the ice rink in Nendaz, mostly empty in summer, with camper vans and vans tolerated overnight if kept discreet. A tourist-office ticket or day fee legitimises the stay; a 20 CHF charge (2 adults + camper car) plus tourist tax has also been reported, with a 24h limit after paying. No showers or toilets. It's a bit noisy in the morning being central, with beautiful hikes starting nearby. Winter parking is reportedly expensive, and the area gets crowded during ski season.

Only allowed for 24 hours after paying the tourist tax and parking fee (€20 for two adults and a motorhome).
Flat parking area. Large ski resort, fairly empty in summer. Motorhomes and vans are tolerated, but you must not camp or open the van roof, otherwise you’ll be fined. No showers, toilets, etc. I wouldn’t try it in winter, as the resort is probably packed.
Great, and because of Snowvibes I received special permission to stay for three nights. Normally, one night is tolerated. Excellent location, close to shops, the cable car, and more.
We spent one night in the main parking area, arriving too late to go to the tourist office. We had no problems. It’s the only place in town where you can park for free. A little noisy in the morning because it’s in the town center.
