Strada Provinciale 41, 71010, Foce Varano
Been here?
A shady, ventilated campsite with large pitches, clean facilities and a short walk through pine forest to a long, free natural beach. There is a small bar, food may be available on site, and recent reports mention a price of 40€ for four people. The area is generally peaceful, with a cycle path toward Lago di Varano. Dogs are allowed, but one recent report describes the site's loose dog fatally attacking a leashed dog.

Very shady campsite. Friendly welcome. The beach is pretty and not too crowded, unsupervised and therefore free. There is a small bar. It is possible to eat on site, although we did not try it because it was not mentioned on P4N. €40 for four people.Translating
Very shady and breezy place with large, well-spaced pitches. Excellent welcome. Clean bathrooms. Huge free beach nearby, reachable via a short walk through the pine forest, with no beach establishments because it is a nature reserve. Peaceful place with many interesting activities organized by the owners.Translating
A friendly welcome when we arrived and we stayed 2 nights in our camper van. Parked under trees so plenty of shade. All facilities are clean and tidy. An outdoor bar area which looked nice but we didn't use. Cycle path gives direct access to the paths around Lago di Varano. Beautiful beach across the road. Thank you for your hospitality.
We were there for the weekend of June 14–15 and paid €30 per night. Despite it being a weekend, it was quiet and relaxing. Large pitches with lots of shade. Excellent sanitary facilities. Beautiful bike rides are possible. The kilometer-long natural beach is 400 meters away. The water is very shallow and the beach looks a little untidy, but we were alone there in the morning, for example.Translating
Absolutely peaceful location with large pitches. Short walk to the natural beach. Sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful owners.Translating
Excellent facility with large, shaded pitches suitable for all campers.Translating
Very nice campsite in a quiet location. The owners are very friendly. Excellent value for money.Translating
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! The sanitary facilities are new but could be a little cleaner. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes bothered us a bit.Translating
Warning! Danger!! Our dog, which was on a leash, was mauled to death by the campsite’s dog, which was off leash. Its entrails were on the grass, and we witnessed it. I don’t dare imagine what would happen if this happened to a child! If your loved ones mean anything to you, stay away. My wife has been traumatized by this incident. Be careful.Translating
A peaceful and welcoming environment. Very large spaces, and the owner was very friendly. He even made a barbecue available to us! They were very kind, even though we were traveling with a rooftop tent. He was very generous and welcoming! I will definitely return! We camped for just one night in May.Translating
Site was just opening for the season, owner was really lovely and prices cheaper in off season than listed in park for night description. As it was just opening we had a lovely, tranquil night here. Facilities could be a bit cleaner but site has everything you need.
Fine, quiet place to spend the night. Clean sanitary facilities and a wonderful location close to the sea. The manager is extremely friendly and uses a translation app to communicate. Indeed, it was closed for the 2025 season as of September 26.Translating
Unfortunately, already closed!!!Translating
Modern toilets and showers, large shady site, very helpful owners. Perfect for detoxing away from everything. A grocery store and restaurant are reachable by bike, 8 km each way. A vegetable seller comes to the site in the evening. Bar with coffee and cold drinks. Since it is in a nature reserve, the natural beach is untouched and has no loungers or other facilities.Translating
Nothing to complain about except that the mosquitoes choose my wife. Otherwise, Massimo is available for any problem, expense, or excursion-related vehicle recommendation.Translating
Nice campsite, large pitches, cool shade under the trees. Four minutes’ walk to a dog-friendly beach.Translating
Wonderful! We are here in early September, and it is a quiet, excellent place. The sanitary facilities are clean and modern, and everything is included in the package. Be aware that in 2025 you should expect to pay about €5 more on average, because the listed prices are several years old. But honestly, it is great. A fine sandy beach is next door, and we are almost alone there. A small bar serves delicious coffees. Everyone is extremely friendly, from the barman to the site manager. Highly recommended.Translating
This is the second time we have come to Mecca Club, and it is always wonderful and peaceful. Where else can you find hot water for washing the dishes! Great attention to campers’ needs and great availability from Massimo and Cinzia. They say the third time is the charm—we will be back.Translating
A superb campsite, very pleasant, clean, and suitable for traveling with a dog. The staff are very friendly, and the pitches are large—really large—which is very pleasant! Everything is beautifully arranged. Easy access to the lagoon and walks. You can order an evening meal at reception from the nearby pizzeria, which delivers.Translating
August 2025: one of the best campsites I have stayed at, with one of the best beaches three minutes away. Velvety sand, beautiful sea, and few people. Everything at the campsite is good and well organized. Well done. Thank you very much.Translating
Beautiful shady stop near a lovely sea, reached in five minutes through a pine forest. Nature is the true star here, with large pitches and facilities that are always clean. A baker and a fruit seller come by every day. Hot water and electricity are included in the price. Dogs are free and welcome on the beach too. We will gladly return! Attentive management and very kind staff!Translating
Large pitches, sanitary facilities with hot water included in the price, and the sea just a few meters away through the pine forest. Large free beach. Mecca Club is a lovely, relaxing place with everything you need; anything else can be brought on site—bread, fruit, fish. A supermarket is a few kilometers away. Everything is managed by very kind and helpful people, which makes a big difference!Translating
Clean campsite with large, flat, shaded spaces. Food truck on site. But... - It is not directly by the sea; a road separates the campsite from the sea. - Expensive (€40 for two people with a van). - The water is not drinkable; you have to buy bottled water from the food truck. - About fifteen campsites nearby. Superb beach with big waves and a lovely, peaceful atmosphere.
Everything was perfect. The pitches are very spacious, and even in the middle of August there is plenty of room. The staff are very pleasant. There is a food truck on site and a vendor who comes every evening with fruit, vegetables, and cheese. All accompanied by the sound of cicadas. Fine sandy beach opposite the campsite, with few people—very pleasant.
Quiet. Beautiful, and the facilities are very clean. Perfect for coming with a dog. All the pitches are shady and huge. The enormous beach is right next door, across a pine forest. Perfect!!!
Beautiful campsite with excellent organization. Pitches of 100 square meters (10×10) beneath a cool pine forest. The sea is a few hundred meters away. Playground for children and a bar. You can rent a car directly at the campsite to visit nearby villages. Clean bathrooms. An absolutely positive experience.
Beautiful, well-maintained campsite in a boho style. The owners are very friendly and committed, with bread-roll service on request. Dogs welcome, sanitary facilities okay. Unfortunately, the beach was empty, neglected, and somewhat dirty—otherwise a great place to relax.
We are here in mid-June, and it is still very quiet. We were allowed to choose one of the spacious pitches and are parked beneath shady pine trees. The sanitary facilities are excellent, and the site also offers various conveniences: you can buy essentials either from the traveling vendor or from the shelf at reception. Everyone here is very nice—this is how camping should be!
If you are looking for absolute peace in May, this is the right place. Super-friendly welcome from the owner. We could choose our pitch, and they are really huge. Showers and toilets clean. The beach cannot currently be used because it has not yet been prepared for the season. There is still a lot of driftwood and rubbish there. Toward Vieste, however, you can find several beautiful, usable beaches. Best to bring a bicycle ;-).
Enchanting place, a wonderful pine forest with very spacious areas available. Beach opposite the campsite. Bathrooms and showers with hot water without tokens. Relaxation area and games for children. Extremely friendly staff.
Spectacular campsite with top-quality facilities! Massimo and his family took care of every detail. The best of the best!!!
Lovely simple campsite. Very friendly man who speaks all languages via Google Translate. Spacious pitches under the trees.
Large campsite under pine trees. The pitches are approximately 7×13 meters. Friendly welcome. Nice, almost deserted beach 300 meters away. A DJ was scheduled for a party on Saturday evening... so we left. €33 for two people in a motorhome with electricity.
Very pleasant and quiet campsite. The sanitary facilities are very clean, and the pitch is large. However, there are enormous numbers of mosquitoes, which are difficult to tolerate when you are their target.
We loved the site, and the beach was great too. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes ruined the end of our holiday, so we left after five nights.
Excellent place surrounded by nature, with shaded pitches, a small playground, and the possibility of ordering croissants for breakfast. The free beach was beautiful; we were there at the end of August and it was almost empty. The only downside was the mosquitoes—there were truly too many, although pest control was planned.
Mecca Club has major drawbacks in August: - It has no drinking water on site, only desalinated water that cannot be drunk. - It was not possible to book either a trip to the Tremiti Islands or a car, which is only available for four people, while we are five. - Electricity cannot be used in the bathrooms, and there are often problems with the hot showers. The sea is wild, nearby, and beautiful. Yes, you are a little lost in the middle of nowhere.
We stayed for a week. The staff could not be any kinder, the pitch was very large and shaded by the pine forest, and the showers and bathrooms were clean with hot water 24 hours a day. Excellent services, including car rental, plus fresh bread and locally grown fruit and vegetables every morning. We will definitely return.
Beautiful place. Shaded, clean, and with kind, helpful owners. Five stars.
A magical place at very competitive prices. We intended to stay for two nights but stayed for seven! Huge pitches, all shaded, and a thousand thoughtful touches from the family hosting us. Pitch for a camper, two adults, one child, and one dog: €35 per day. The peace and atmosphere make this place magical. Thank you to Massimo, Cinzia, and their family for managing this place so well.
