Been here?
Castelluccio is a free gravel motorhome area with mostly level parking, excellent views over the plain and access to several hikes. Water, grey-water and toilet disposal, rubbish bins and chemical toilets are available, although the waste outlet has often been clogged. The village is about 500 meters uphill, with bars and restaurants around 100 meters away. Recent stays were quiet, but finding a place can be difficult in summer.

great free parking with services. great water pressure. very close to the start of several hikes.
A good car park with free services below the village. Do not miss visiting it, even though it still bears significant scars from the 2016 earthquake. The residents’ courage in rebuilding it is exemplary, and local producers also need to regain a decent livelihood.Translating
Excellent site on the Castelluccio plateau. Reasonably level gravel surface. Chemical toilets, rubbish collection, and water filling and emptying facilities. Quiet nights.Translating
Excellent gravel parking area, fairly level, overlooking the Castelluccio plain with a splendid view. Grey-water and toilet emptying available.Translating
Free, level site. Waste-water disposal and water available, as well as toilets and rubbish bins. Everything you need, plus surprisingly good restaurants above the site.Translating
Fantastic location for views of the summer blooms and as a starting point for walks or climbing to Castelluccio. A bar, typical restaurants and toilets are 100 metres away. Water filling and emptying available, unfortunately often blocked. Finding a place in summer is difficult, partly because there are no signs indicating a camper area, so cars park there too.Translating
Excellent location, perfectly level, just steps from the restaurant area serving typical cuisine. Separate recycling available. However, the parking should be reserved for campers, since cars have many other spaces, and the water-drainage area was an unusable muddy pool.Translating
Four stars for the location, three for the rest. It offers a beautiful view over the Castelluccio plain. The free parking area is unpaved, with recycling bins and a water tap. The combined waste-water drain was present but blocked. Excellent restaurants next door.Translating
The grey-water drain is still blocked. I reported the problem to the municipality of Norcia by email.Translating
Parking with a view over the plain. There is water, but the drain is blocked. At least in this season, the advantages are the silence and the exceptional view.Translating
Parking area on a bend in a very busy road. There is a constant stream of cars and motorcycles. Suitable only for a daytime stop.Translating
Nearly level gravel site for several motorhomes, suitable for overnight stays. Bar farther up in the village. Waste and water services are perfect. Water connection and rubbish bins available. Everything is free. Please keep the site clean!Translating
Quiet and clean place, perfect for spending a night, with rubbish bins, waste-water emptying and a tap on site. As a bonus, a beautiful view at sunrise.Translating
Very convenient parking with panoramic views, free water filling and emptying. A few problems manoeuvring with the toilet tank, but it is possible to empty it into the drain. Fairly level and quiet at night.Translating
Medium-sized, relatively level gravel car park, also suitable for large motorhomes. Waste disposal, grey- and black-water emptying and water are available, all free. Clean toilets are available above the restaurants or up in the village; donations are welcome. Beautiful walks are possible. Thanks for this great place.Translating
Convenient and quiet area for visiting Castelluccio and admiring the vastness of the plain. We had no phone reception with several providers, but it is highly recommended!Translating
Drain blocked.Translating
Very crowded in season, grey-water drain blocked, and the site is right beside the road.Translating
Wonderful stopping area in one of the most beautiful places ever. Unbeatable view over the Italian Tibet and guaranteed peace. Water filling and emptying, plus a drain for the chemical toilet. Excellent restaurants above with a public toilet. We will definitely return. From here you can visit Castelluccio, start a trek or cycle around the plain.Translating
Excellent stopping point for visiting Castelluccio. Grey- and black-water drains are available, but flooded and therefore unusable. We did not spend the night, but it is beside the road. Bars and restaurants are just above.Translating
Excellent camper area with a breathtaking view! Strategic location for beautiful hikes in the Sibillini Mountains. Water and grey-water disposal available. Beside the road and a little noisy in the morning. After the 2016 earthquake, the town’s restaurants were temporarily relocated right next to the camper area, so there is plenty of choice for a lovely dinner featuring local products.Translating
Small free camper area without services but with a STUNNING view. In the middle of nowhere and peaceful. Restaurants and agriturismos are just behind it. The village, being rebuilt after the 2016 earthquake, is one kilometre away. The temperature is excellent. You may not find a space, but there are other places. It is forbidden to drive up to the village on weekends.
Grey water is draining again. The water supply is problematic: two taps close together are not labelled. Campers clean their toilets, and shortly afterwards a cyclist comes and fills their drinking bottle. Therefore, use the threaded tap for fresh water and the unthreaded tap for the toilet.
Very small parking area exclusively for camper stops, without services.
Ideal for starting walks or bike rides. It is indeed a shame that the services are not in good condition, but the residents still have other concerns.
Extraordinary place. It is no longer signposted as a camper area but as a normal car park where whoever arrives first parks either a car or a camper. Therefore avoid flowering season, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Few signs and little clarity. One map on the website shows no camper parking, while another does. The service area, for grey water only, is blocked and flooded.
First, we thank the administration for providing this parking area in a place with an extraordinary view. Parking for around ten vans or campers. Very clean and functional public toilets two minutes away on foot; there is a box inside for a cleaning contribution, which should absolutely be used. Restaurants and bars with delicious local dishes are also two minutes away. We will return.
Excellent free stopping area in a beautiful place. A little sloping and unfortunately with not many spaces.
Strategic location and magnificent view, free, level and quiet. We slept all night without problems. Water point available. One star deducted because the drain was blocked (29 April 2025).
Small free camper area, scenic and quiet at night. Typical taverns and restaurants just above, and they are excellent! Drinking-water tap and separate rubbish bins.
Spacious, clean parking area with one water point and rubbish bins. Restaurants are just above. We did not sleep there, only parked to begin a hike.
If only cars did not take the level spaces intended for motorhomes, it would probably have been good. I did not stay.
We spent a night in this parking lot with a couple of other motorhomes. It was very quiet and we can felt safe. At 6 P.M. we got one of the last space available, it was very flat but unpaved. The facility were a little bit run down and the waste water run of wasn't working. There are many restaurants above the parking lot and many trekking starts directly from the parking lot.
Breathtaking view! Above the pitch there are some typical local eateries and a convenient drinking-water fountain right inside the pitch. Perfect for anyone seeking relaxation and natural beauty.
Thanks to the village. Yes, the grey water is blocked, but people are working hard to rebuild the village after the earthquake. Great paragliding spot, with excellent hiking and cycling tours. The small village has everything you need. Public toilet three minutes away on foot and very clean. It was a wonderful stay.
A good site with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the grey-water disposal is blocked. There is fresh water, but it is unclear whether it is potable. Black water cannot be disposed of here. Super delicious restaurants nearby.
Mixed parking area shared with cars. Arrive early or late in the evening because it is always full of cars. Grey- and black-water disposal is available, but currently everything is filthy and covered in waste.
Convenient area in a beautiful, scenic location. Bins for unsorted waste are also available. It is often occupied by cars, though. Water filling and emptying are available, but the drain is still completely blocked and flooded, so unusable. Empty your tanks before coming here, because currently it cannot be done here.
Free stopping area with separate rubbish bins and a water point. The grey-water drain was completely blocked, yet people continued emptying into it. A black-water drain is present, but we did not try it. No electricity. Good Iliad signal. Arrive early in the morning or in the evening; it is very crowded during the day. Breathtaking panorama!
