This is a picnic area with tables, barbecue facilities, bins, water and views over a geothermal area. Camping is explicitly forbidden and this is reportedly enforced. The area is generally quiet, though geothermal activity causes a sulphur smell and a low continuous hum; the water fountain was working in the latest relevant report.

Camping is explicitly prohibited on the sign. According to the other reviews, this is also enforced. The place itself is nice, but I do not want to risk being sent away by the police. I happened to end up here, so I will probably move on.
Had a calm night there and the water fountain was working at the time. There is a bit of a sulphur smell due to geothermal activity. Police came in the morning but didn't seem bothered by us.
Perfect for a lunch break. Unfortunately, on 26 April 2024 the drinking fountain was not working, but the place is still quiet and has tables and bins. I think it would also be suitable for sleeping.
Nice place with tables and a fire pit, a water fountain and rubbish bins. Internet signal is good.
Nice pitch for one night. Beautiful view. Absolutely quiet at night.
Basically, a very nice place. Around lunchtime, many construction workers come here for their lunch break. We wanted to stay overnight, but then the Carabinieri arrived, first checked us and then our car—fortunately, not too thoroughly—and asked us to leave because we were not allowed to stay here!
