Base Camp Medvedin

By far the most expensive campsite I have ever stayed at. About €74 per night for our own tent, two adults, three children, and a car. Showers cost extra. Fire pit available for rent. They know how to make money here. Check-in must be completed yourself on a tablet. Data protection seems to be a foreign concept; the tablet suggested previous passport numbers. Well, location, location, location.

The price is absolutely worth it: you are in the middle of nature, in the most central location for hiking in the mountains. The facilities are excellent: good sanitary facilities, indoor kitchens, a large common room, and friendly owners. Busy in high season but enough space, with a beautiful view. Wonderful cold river and a forest with hammocks. More expensive than other Czech campsites, but the perfect base for the Krkonoše Mountains.

Simply far too expensive! Showers that are too small and also cost extra, and too few toilets! You have to check yourself in even though the receptionist is there for that. We were the only arrivals!

A neat, relaxed campsite. €36 for a camper with two people and three dogs in the low season. Not really cheap, but clean and with very friendly people. Four kitchens in the building and a coffee machine. Showers are clean and hot. Wonderful.

Beautifully located on the fresh Elbe and a good starting point for hikes. Probably the only campsite in the immediate area, which explains the pricing. Somewhat expensive for the value. Washing dishes is only possible with cold water. Clean sanitary facilities. Friendly welcome.

A nice campsite. Showers cost five symbolic crowns, but they do not always work. The high price is not justified. There are several kitchenettes and a common room in the reception building.

Quiet and beautifully located campsite. The staff are very kind and helpful. We reserved online the evening before arrival, but since many spaces were still free when we arrived, we were allowed to choose our pitch freely. The pitches are level and sufficiently large. The sanitary facilities are somewhat dated but clean and well maintained.

The site is okay, like most others in the Czech Republic. But double the price of many other campsites is not justified. The standard is the same as at many other, significantly cheaper sites. The perfect location and lack of competition for hiking or cycling are being exploited here.

Very nice and helpful operators. I agree with the previous reviewers. Points deducted only for the very, very, very high price: €45 for one night without electricity.

We stayed at this campsite from January 3 to January 6, 2025, and got a good, almost level pitch even without booking. Since our plugs did not fit the electrical box, the campsite provided us with an extension cable, thank you for that. The toilets and showers were okay and clean. Points deducted for the price; €50 is quite steep, especially since the shower costs extra.

Beautiful location, very nice staff, and everything well maintained. The campsite's website allows you to take advantage of offers in advance.

This campsite also charges winter sports prices in summer. €50 for one camper with two people is clearly overpriced. If there were good service in return, it would be bearable. That is not entirely the case. The black-water dump is a hole in the ground without a rinsing facility. You can then only use the water hose intended for filling the water tank. What a shame!

Overpriced and small pitches. The location does make up for a lot.

We loved this site. We were allocated pitch A4 which was spacious, almost level and was in the sun until late evening. The facilities were excellent. The price reflected its great location only a short walk away from the chairlift.

For me, this is the most beautiful campsite in the Czech Republic so far. Very friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities, and several kitchenettes that can be used, including for washing dishes. Everything is very tidy. Hiking trails start directly from the site. Everything you need is available.

Beautiful place as a starting point for hikes. Far too expensive: €35 for the pitch and €10 for electricity for small pitches. Showers cost extra at 5 kroner.

Nice campsite with excellent facilities, slightly dated but fine. Reception speaks English and is very helpful. We had a quiet spot next to the stream. The lift up to Medvědín is a five-minute walk from the campsite, ideal. The campsite price is quite high, €38.

Nice spot & nice people at the reception, but 41 EUR for 1 night (camper, 2 people, electricity) looks a lot. The shower is not expensive, but still quite surprising with the price you already pay, limited to 5min per 5czkr. Sauna 33EUR for 1.5h. Nice addition after long day of hiking. Clothes washing possible, but the machine very small - 1 run about 2EUR, dryer also small - somewhat 2-3 EUR.

Neat and beautiful campsite, directly on the Elbe. The people are very nice and speak good English. The online check-in made everything very straightforward. Unfortunately, the pitches are quite cramped.

Friendly and helpful staff, they speak English. Bathroom and kitchen are neatly kept and the camping area I good, the river is a cold refreshment and a “cozy” hangout spot can be found near the river and campsite.
