GUEST HOUSE CHAVES, 46 Rua Solidão, 5400-518, Chaves
Been here?
This small, flat and calm private motorhome area lies beside the Tâmega River, 20 m away, and about 200 m from central Chaves. It offers marked pitches, drinking water, toilets and hot showers, with recent reports confirming that the services are clean and functional. The price is 15 € plus 2 € for electricity. The town, thermal baths, park and cycling routes are easily reached on foot, although the site has little or no shade.

Warm welcome, direct access on foot to the park and town. Very quiet, all services are available, and the ground is flat. Perfect.Translating
Excellent place for a stopover and visiting the town: this aire is right next to the thermal baths and downtown area. Clean, functional facilities and hot-water showers. Very warm welcome (French spoken) and very reasonable price. The only criticism: no shade in case of extreme heat.Translating
Very beautiful place, well equipped, flat, and very close to the center of Chaves and the thermal baths. Facilities are okay, drinking water available. A very good address that can only be recommended! The pitch behind the house is a little quieter.Translating
The location of the motorhome site is great; the town is easily reachable on foot, either across the bridge along the road or through the small, well-kept park. The owners are very friendly. The sanitary facilities are really old and uninviting. We therefore did not use the shower or toilet, as we were uncomfortable with them.Translating
I recommend this private site for welcoming motorhome travelers: very warm welcome, sufficiently spacious, clearly defined pitches for a stopover, and clean showers and toilets. €15 plus €2 for electricity is perfectly reasonable. Chaves historic center is a 10-minute walk away.Translating
Excellent welcome, wonderful town, and a good place for cycling on the greenway that goes to Spain, about 10 km away. We will probably return on the way back.Translating
We came in 2024 and returned without hesitation for two nights. Pleasant welcome and quiet. Everything is perfect, showers and so on. Thank you, and surely see you soon.Translating
Stayed here for 2 nights, very warm welcome from the owner, small but everything you need. The site sits on the back of the river and a beautiful park. The town is just the other side of the river with loads to see and do. We will definitely stay here again.
Very well located, friendly welcome, and clean, adequate facilities. The owner is planning to renovate them in September. Thank you for this motorhome aire, which deserves credit simply for existing.Translating
Packed tightly together, with no shade. Disappointing as a starting point for Route N2. I preferred Moinho at the farm, which is a fantastic restaurant with cool, shaded pitches.Translating
We had a wonderful stay camping at the Guest Host. It is surrounded by a beautiful park, and a short walk through it puts you in the old town. Other modern stores are a short walk away, as well. The host is wonderful, all the services were great!
A very good place and budget-friendly. Great owner. Close to the city. Ideal for starting Route 66 (N2).Translating
Located close to the river and the city, all the amenities are there for €15pn + €2 for ehu. Friendly owners. Leclerc supermarket 200m away. To be recommended.
Good and beautifully located motorhome site for visiting Chaves on foot; E.Leclerc is a 5-minute walk away. Friendly owners, but the showers are outdated, very old, basic, and dirty, with mold. Dishwashing sinks have cold water. I had to pay in cash.Translating
Perfect for visiting Chaves, with a beautiful walk along the river; restaurants, supermarkets, and everything else are very close. The facilities are very good for the price, and the kindness of the receptionist was unbeatable. Thank you very much for everything.Translating
Nice campsite, friendly owner, and an excellent price-quality ratio.Translating
Fantastic place, inside a magnificent park beside the Tâmega River. A 10-minute walk takes you to Trajan's Bridge and the historic center, where there are many restaurants and services. The owner is charming and helps with everything you need. Very reasonable price. Definitely recommended.Translating
We loved the place, in a natural setting with a large park right beside the river. Very close to the city via a very pleasant walk. It has all the necessary services. But the best thing is its owner: kind, helpful, and extremely nice. Worth it if you visit Chaves. Good price.Translating
Excellent city site. Close to a supermarket and right near the city center. Friendly welcome and everything you could need for camping is available.Translating
Ideal location within walking distance of the center. Friendly welcome and everything you need is available.Translating
Very good service; the facilities are adequate for parking, like at home.Translating
A good place to stop if you want to visit the thermal baths and the city; cross over and you are in town. No reservations, so you have to arrive early in the morning. There are some trees, but overall it gets quite a lot of sun. The showers and bathrooms are very basic. The staff are very friendly. €15 per night without electricity.Translating
They welcomed us wonderfully. It meets all requirements: beside the river, close to the historic center, green areas, and an E.Leclerc right next door. Free showers and barbecue areas. I would return without hesitation!Translating
Quiet site, 5 minutes from the center, with all services! The owner is very friendly; I would definitely return!
If you get a spot at the front, you are lucky; if they put you at the back, you may find that they have packed in so many motorhomes like Tetris that it will be difficult to get out, with no room to extend the awning. When leaving, we found another motorhome parked in the exit lane and had to avoid its overhang by just a few centimeters. There is a free parking lot directly opposite. It was a disastrous stay.
Had two nights here. Lovely, friendly owners, great for the city, six minutes' walk down the river. We did not use the showers and so on, but could see they were clean although old. We would stop here again.
super nice staff at reception. great tips and very helpfull. would come back again
For staying near the thermal baths, beside a very beautiful promenade, you can walk to the center. We are comfortable in this area; it is quiet and has space for quite a few motorhomes. It is worth spending one or several nights here. Chaves deserves a leisurely visit.
Amazing place, the owner is super friendly. Wonderful host! Clean and cozy. Recommended!
The gentleman is very kind. The services are excellent and the city center is very close.
Thank you to the owner for his welcome and for the information about the town. We had an excellent night's stay.
Good for one night. It was muddy.
Everything we look for is here: flat ground, drinking water, waste disposal, showers, toilets, washing machine, and of course electricity. Very accessible, even with a large motorhome and car trailer. The owners are also very friendly and speak French. Easily five stars…
Within walking distance of the old town. All services are available; simple but clean. The manager is welcoming and provides information about the town. He manages to find a place even when it is busy. Therefore, do not expect large pitches, but you will have a space.
Very friendly welcome from the helpful site manager Rui. Everything you need is available: sanitary facilities, waste disposal, and fresh water. Well maintained and clean, with enough space. We were here with a large Morelo. The location is ideal for visiting the town and thermal baths.
Perfect location for staying and visiting Chaves. Friendly and helpful manager Rui. DO NOT COMPLAIN about it being too small, too cramped, too old, or lacking gray-water disposal, etc. Everything is there and works. If that bothers you, please park somewhere else so someone who appreciates it can stay here.
Very family-friendly aire, with all nationalities. The owner speaks French and is very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are basic but very clean. The town is a 10-minute walk away. Cycle and pedestrian paths run along both banks of the Tâmega River. The only drawback is no gray-water disposal on the site. Advice: do not arrive too late; there are about 20 spaces.
Well-located aire adjoining a large park beside the river, with a pedestrian footbridge to the center. Very friendly welcome, simple but very clean facilities. €15 per night with shower and toilet. Barbecue, sinks. Electricity €2, washing machine €3. Quiet night.
Convenient aire. Very warm welcome. Rustic but clean facilities.
Small site; people stand very close together in full sun. There is no chance to sit beside the motorhome. We drove on. I do not understand how the site has received so many good reviews. I wanted to add a photo of the conditions, but it was not possible.
