Chapel parking, overnight restrictions

Uneven, stony and sloping ground. There are no facilities or lighting of any kind. The views are spectacular. We arrived in the afternoon and there was only one car. Near sunset, locals kept arriving continuously, presumably to walk along the trail and watch the sunset. We spent a peaceful night, alone.✦Translating

Parking area, slightly sloping, with about fifteen spaces next to a chapel. Very beautiful view of Puy-de-Dôme, which is very close; you can start a hike from this parking area. We spent a very pleasant night there. There is a road very close by, but it is quiet at night.✦Translating

Nice little parking area with a beautiful view of Puy de Dôme. Sloping and with a few stones. We spent two quiet nights despite a few cars passing and wind at 50 km/h. No services. It is 11 km from Col de Ceyssat, where you can begin the climb to Puy-de-Dôme. A small chapel with a spring is nearby. The walk across the heathland is magnificent, not far from the sheep flock.✦Translating

A site very popular with locals. Please park properly, diagonally rather than in the middle of the parking area, so you do not inconvenience other users. The parking area is rough with large stones, and parking in the middle blocks access for others. The forest rangers will give you a hefty fine if you do not follow the rules here, and they come every day, because there are increasingly more abuses. Thank you.✦Translating

Beautiful place, unfortunately many campervans whose occupants spread out with chairs, tables, kitchens and toilets. It was nevertheless a quiet night. Beautiful view of Puy de Dôme.

Lots of motorhomes—the meeting place for people constantly asking to borrow salt.

The rangers informed us that it was permitted to spend one night there. Camping is allowed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., meaning you may set up a table and extend the awning. You may also use a camping chair outside those hours.
