Camping preikestolen

Perfect site after hiking to Preikestolen! We arrived spontaneously in the evening and there were still plenty of spaces available. The pitches can be chosen freely. The sanitary facilities are very clean and the staff is super friendly. A small café with a shop is also right on site. Absolutely recommended!

Great site with many showers and toilets. Washing machines and all disposal facilities available, free choice of pitch, and free Wi-Fi. There is also a restaurant and souvenir shop. A lot of through traffic and day visitors. The price was perfectly reasonable for what was offered.

Great campsite ideally located near the trailhead. You can choose your pitch; reservations are not possible. Sufficient and clean sanitary facilities. The reception shop sells souvenirs, drinks, groceries, and food. Barbecues available. Difficult to leave in the morning because the barrier was out of order.

Large, nature-oriented campsite that is popular because of its location. The sanitary facilities are decent and clean. Sometimes there could be a few more showers or toilets, but you can also use them when the others are not ;-)

Clearly a hikers' campsite; most people are here for Preikestolen. It is not a place for a week-long holiday, and there is constant coming and going early and late. But it does what it is meant to do: clean facilities (yes, you sometimes have to wait during peak times), friendly staff, and plenty of space for many people. Unfortunately, the shuttle bus is currently not running, but walking worked too.

It is a large site without marked pitches; even if you arrive late, you can still find a spot. The sanitary building is far too small for the size of the site, so you have to expect waiting times during peak periods. Norwegian prices are typically too high for what is offered.

Large site with free choice of pitch, but unfortunately there was a lot of noise until after 9 p.m., as there is also a gravel works directly across the road that operates late.

The campsite is somewhat divided, with free choice of pitch. This means some people spread their belongings out and need a lot of space. There is constant coming and going until late evening. Good for one night when passing through. The staff is very friendly and everything is relaxed and clean. Very nice here. Thanks, we would gladly return.

Larger campsite with free choice of pitch. Plenty of options for electricity and water. Both sunny and shady pitches are available. High turnover. The sanitary facilities were clean and sufficient, as there is another building with showers and toilets behind the main one. Very friendly staff.

Campsite very well located next to Preikestolen. Very friendly welcome. 400 NOK per night (1 van, 2 adults, without electricity). Very large, unmarked site: everyone parks wherever they want. The sanitary facilities were clean but few in number: only three women's toilets and the same number for men. Showers were adequate and hot. Only two washing machines, one of which was broken.

Good starting point for visiting Preikestolen. Open, unmarked grounds. Very good sanitary facilities with washing machines. At the beginning of July it was still fairly empty.

Large grounds, natural setting, and enough space, although it quickly became full after 4 p.m. Shop with a small selection. However, NOK 120 for electricity is more than outrageous.

Two nights at the beginning of July for €93 including electricity. Enough free pitches. Very good and clean sanitary facilities. Gray-water disposal at the exit. Chemical toilet by the sanitary building. From the campsite, we followed a hiking trail to the Preikestolen Base Camp (注意: the trail is very wet and swampy), then continued hiking to Preikestolen. On the way back, we took the road from the Base Camp. 17 km in total.

Beautiful campsite with many free pitches. The sanitary facilities are fine; showers are included in the price of 300 + 50 per person. Electricity is ridiculously expensive at 120 kr. Fortunately, we did not need it. Unfortunately, there is no longer a bus to Preikestolen Basecamp.

Nice site. Even in July it is not very full. You can freely choose a pitch and the sanitary facilities are also good. We like it here for one night.

There is no longer a bus from the campsite to Preikestolen, which is 4 km from the campsite. Walking there is 4 km uphill.

Nice camping, but the price is justified only by the tourist attraction; otherwise, it would be too expensive. There's a lot of space, but due to unmarked pitches, parking is sometimes chaotic. Otherwise, it's a good quality basic campsite to stay for a night and enjoy a spacious shower.

Large grounds. You can park wherever you want. Entry and exit are possible with a card through a barrier. The showers were very large. There were also individual cubicles with only a sink. Unfortunately, the women's toilet smelled strongly of sewage.

Beautiful large camp, but there is only one washroom, making it very chaotic during peak times. It is a one-hour walk or 30 minutes by bicycle along the road to Preikestolen Basecamp; the bus no longer runs. Do not miss the check-out time; we had to pay a €5 fine shortly after 11:00.

Great campsite! Everything was clean and you can wash your clothes perfectly here; the washing machines were pleasant and clean. Top location if you want to hike Preikestolen!

Huge campsite 4 km from Basecamp. Very relaxed because you can choose your own pitch. Friendly reception with a small shop. Four stars because the sanitary facilities could be cleaner.

Simple, uncomplicated pitch with electricity and water.

Nature campsite near Preikestolen. No marked pitches. The facilities are okay but very few compared with the site's potential capacity. Price based on the number of people. If you are self-sufficient (and more than two people), prefer the camper stop right next door, whose price includes electricity.

We stayed here after the hike, arriving around 8 p.m.; there were still more than enough spaces. Free choice of pitch, mostly grass. Only one central sanitary facility for the huge site, resulting in some long walks. Overall everything was good, and it was pleasantly quiet in the evening. In the morning, however, the adjacent road could already be heard clearly.

Very beautiful and quiet campsite. Ideal for hiking Preikestolen. You can choose your pitch on the very large campsite among trees and ponds. The sanitary facilities are good, but probably somewhat insufficient when fully occupied.

To climb Preikestolen in nice weather we came from 4 hours away so started late and finished at 21:00. We were going to wild camp but the thought of quick hot showers and facilities tempted us and without electricity at 350NOK compared to the nearby aire at 275NOK it was the right choice. Busy but all worked well.

Ideal for hiking Preikestolen (5 minutes by car). Spacious pitches chosen freely. Sanitary facilities okay; there are newer ones at the back, so do not hesitate to use them to avoid queuing. A nice bonus: the man at reception speaks French.

Fine spacious campsite near Preikestolen. But there is no bus to Preikestolen, so you must either walk an extra 4 km there—and remember the return journey too—along the road, or drive your camper from the campsite to the car park and pay an extra €25 for the day. Too bad the campsite does not arrange a shuttle bus! The Wi-Fi is useless.

The site itself is okay, with lots of nature. However, it is huge and purely a tourist-processing operation. We did not like it.

Large campsite with plenty of space at beginning of June. Arrived late and barrier around the back was open. So found ourselves a spot and then paid in the morning. Clean facilities and large shower cubicles making it easy to change and shower, although not many so a bit of a queue. Great location for hiking up Preikstolen.

An absolutely beautiful campsite deserving five stars, with free choice of pitch. Very quiet location and only a few minutes from the Preikestolen trail. More than enough showers and toilets, and everything is incredibly clean. We would return anytime. There is also a small shop/restaurant where you can buy a few things and eat.

Everything was good. However, I agree with the others: when the site is full, there are far too few sanitary facilities!

Very beautiful campsite near the Lysefjord and Preikestolen. The sanitary facilities are okay, but I would not want to stay here in high season. Only three toilets and three showers for roughly 100 pitches? Dear Norwegians, you are doing something wrong! The site itself is very beautiful.

Fine camping in low season. Today, 30 April it’s already too busy. There were about 10 other campers / tents on the campsite but since there are only 2 showers and 3 toilets we had to constantly wait. If in summer there are 100-200 campers here it will be horrible. Toilets and showers weren’t cleaned a single time during our stay. The pitches are nice, lots of grass. There is no view.

Good campsite. Very low occupancy in the off-season. When fully occupied, the three showers in the washroom will probably be a bottleneck. But the rest is good. There is also a room with washing machines, and check-in is possible at any time by driving onto the site. Reception is then open for check-in in the morning from 9 a.m. or briefly in the evening around 6 p.m.

Superb campsite, not many people at this time of year. We settled in peacefully before going to reception at 6 p.m. Very charming staff, Wi-Fi throughout the campsite, and impeccable heated sanitary facilities—very pleasant! Small viewpoint opposite reception for watching the sunset.
